Parks, Trains, Pups and Seafood Celebrating!!

Good Morning and Happy Saturday! 

Head on down to City Park to celebrate their 100th birhday with Art Spark in the Park today from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the The Goldring/Woldenberg Great Lawn (Across from Storyland)it's Free and open to the public! The Great Lawn in City Park (across from Storyland)will sparkle with 100 Arts Market artists, elegant music, storytelling
and local cuisine to commemorate a century of fine art housed at NOMA!!

And you definitely want to check out SteamFest 2011 - The Original Audubon Park Steam Engine and last Louisiana-built locomotive, SP745returns for SteamFest2011 May 14th-15th from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm at The Riverview (The Fly) Kids Attractions, Music, Food & Fun, Model Trains,Ellsworth Maritime Steam Engine Exhibit Hosted by the Louisiana Steam Train Association Pay One Price $10, kids $5....There's gonna be a great musical line-up both days -

Today is the Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO) "Pup" Crawl...It's time to help out ARNO and drink with your pup!! You can bring your pooch on a pub crawl to live it up in UPTOWN...today!! Party animals interested in participating should visit http://www.animalrescueneworleans.org/ for more details. First 100 people to register will receive a t-shirt and one free shot at each participating location. Funds raised will benefit Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO), an all-volunteer organization created and dedicated to the rescue and aid of abandoned and homeless animals.  The cost is only $25 and additional donations are welcomed and appreciated.  DO IT FOR THE PUPS (and kitties!!)

And all weekend long it's the The Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival celebrate the rich heritage of the people of Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. Visitors will enjoy great local seafood and other unique, local food specialties. The festival offers continuous live music from popular local bands, and traditional Cajun music. Visitors will also enjoy crafts from local artisans, carnival rides, sandbagging contests, and the Seafood Queen Pageant.
