Bayou, Bay, Sugar and Veggie Fests + More Fun 'Round Town!

Happy Saturday - There are plenty of fun events goin' on around town and beyond!!!

The Bayou Boogaloo continues on today with a full day of fun starting up at 11:00 am on the banks of Bayou St. John (and Orleans Ave.) with a full weekend, of music, food, art and the "Derby Duck Race" for Second Harvest this Sunday.  I got my "Quack Pack" did you get yours???

Do you eat all your veggies???  and even if you don't you're gonna love Veggie Fest at the Zeitgeist (1618 Oretha Castle Haley) all weekend long 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday, and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday...There's gonna be all types of veggie fun with music by Country Fried, Eudora and Deep Soul, and more...check out the link above for all the good stuff going on over there this weekend!!

Take a little road trip to Arabi today for the Old Arabi Sugar Festival at the LeBeau Plantation Grounds....The fun starts up at 11:00 am this morning with yummy foods, a dessert contest, crafts and music by the Jazzmanian Devils, CHS Jazz Band, Irene Sage and more!!  Admission is free - and click the above link for more info on this fun event!!

Looking for a ride to the beach you can head on over to Downtown Bay St. Louis, Mississippi for Bay Bridge Fest...Enjoy the Bay town with great Mississippi seafood, arts and crafts and music, the fun is aall weekend long and starts up at 11:00 am today!!  Here's just some of of the great line-up:

It's gonna be a beautiful night for a drive-in move!!  The NOLA DRIVE-IN will have its second screening tonight at 8:00 p.m. (opening at 6 p.m. with beer, taco truck, and popcorn) at 300 N. Broad at Bienville on top of the old Schwegmann’s grocery store in the rooftop parking lot. The film will be BOTTLE ROCKET.  The event is only 4 dollars. Donations will be gladly accepted. Concessions available for purchase. Drive-in or bike-in event with seating available.  Fun!!!

Music Tonight!!

You can funk it up in Mid-City over at the Banks Street Bar and Grill (4401 Banks) with JUICE!!  The band gets jammin' at 10:30 pm!!

Stay in Mid-City and head on over to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for some yummy food by Taceaux Loceaux and great music at (:00 pm with the  Ramblin' Letters String Band!!

And it's the "pick of the night" over at Rock 'N Bowl (3016 S. Carrollton)....Get your dancin' shoes on and take a step back to the '80s with The HELP featuring Barbara Menendez.  You'll hear some of your old Cold favorites and some great new songs too!  Remember to hit Ye Olde College Inn right next door, eat some din din and get a discounted ticket to the show...I wouldn't want to miss this one!!
