Clydesdales, Networking and Music All Night Long!!

Today you can Meet the Budweiser Clydesdales!!  Southern Eagle in association with Anheuser-Busch invites the public to an unusual Meet and Greet with the Budweiser Clydesdales today from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the New Orleans Police Stables – Marconi at Harrison Ave.  Enjoy Music By the Blackened Blues Band, food provided by the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation, and fun for the whole family!  Register to win a ride on the Budweiser Wagon (winner and guest must be 21 years old or older). Bring your camera and take some great picture with the Clydesdales with all proceeds from the event going to support the New Orleans Police Mounted Division!!

The event will feature media professionals and film enthusiasts and is an opportunity to connect with the film community.  CFN will accept donations for Scrub Brush Productions, but admission is free.

It's a night amazing music at The Ogden Southern Museum of Art concert today for Ogden after Hours.   Music starts up at 6:00 pm with jazz guitarist Davy Mooney  and be sure to check out the yummy drink special - "O What a Milk Punch"!!

It's a Bead Puppies Party Tonight!!!

Happy Hump Day Everybody!

Get your Mardi Gras off with a "bark" with BEAD PUPPIES!!  The Louisiana SPCA is unveiling Paws on Parade, a new public art project, today from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the W New Orleans. The art display includes 58 of the iconic Haydel’s Bakery Mardi Gras Bead Dogs, each sponsored by a local company and decorated by a local artist, to raise awareness of animal welfare. Title artist Alex Beard will be in attendance today. The Mardi Gras Bead Dogs will be on display until June 2012.


After bead puppies - Mid-City is kickin' with lots of great music!

Go by Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for some greta food and the Tex-Mex sounds of the Iguanas at 8:30 pm!  What a fun night!

Head on down to Banks Street Bar and Grill (4401 Banks) around 10ish for the sounds of Major Bacon and some tasty FREE BLTs!!

Tuesdays with Wine and Music!

Happy Tuesday Everybody,

You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market!!!  Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and pick up some fresh seafood, veggies and you can even get some lunch!  Anne Churchill of the Bywater communal commercial kitchen Delicious and Babcia Kubiak bread baker Graison Gill are back under the GPS tent with another incredible lunch menu:
Khmer pumpkin curry soup - fresh lemongrass, galangal, kabocha pumpkin, kaffir lime and coconut milk, hunters' stew - local meats and root veggies in a hearty sauce, served with whole wheat sourdough bread, grated cheese and onion, bean and veggie stew with mushrooms, lentils, pinto beans, chick peas and root veggies in a hearty vegan sauce, served with whole wheat sourdough bread and kale nut crisps, broccoli cheddar quiche, strawberry salad with local greens, ricotta salata and citrus vinaigrette, crispy kale chips (vegan, raw & totally addictive!), Meyer lemon tartlettes with citrus cornmeal crust and hot cocoa with homemade marshmallow....yummy!!

It's Women and Wine on Wednesday at Swirl (3143 Ponce de Leon) tonight from 5:30 to 7:00 pm....Women Who Love Wine is offering a monthly meet up for New Orleans women who appreciate wine and want to share resources. The event is open to the public and will feature 2 special wines at the bar for a reduced price of $5/glass. Tonight's wines include the 2009 Taburno Falanghina and the 2008 Lucarelli Salice Salentino. No reservations required.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Lots of fun stuff to do on this love holiday!

Celebrate V Day at The Maison on Frenchmen (508 Frenchmen)with Jayna Morgan and the Sazerac Sunrise Jazz Band from 7:00 - 10:00 pm....Candlelit tables, deep red tableclothes, fine cuisine (for bar food), plus beautiful and sultry songs to inspire the mood. And maybe a little trombone....No cover, lots of room to slow dance, and dark corners with couches to makeout!

The New Orleans Opera Association continues its Opera Returns to Bourbon Street live performance series with a special Valentine’s Day concert. Vocalists in the Opera on Tap showcase will perform romantic arias and songs at the Puccini Bar in The Inn on Bourbon (541 Bourbon). The event starts at 7 p.m.

Sasha and Steve Masakowski will perform love songs at the Eiffel Society (2040 St. Charles Ave.) from 6:30 p.m. to 9: 30 p.m. followed by DJ Soul Sister until 1 a.m. The event is free and open to guests just wanting to listen to music. For couples, the venue is hosting a special five-course Valentine’s dinner. Call 525-2951 for reservations.

Enjoy this lovely holiday on the front porch at The Columns....They've got David Doucet from BeauSoleil fame at 8:00 pm, and while you're enjoying the sounds be sure to have an adult beverage to warm you on up!

TGIF with a Benefit, Wine and Mo' Music!

TGIF for real!! 

What's happenin' this Friday night??  Lots!!

There's some great music for a great cause tonight! It's the Kipp Believe College Prep Benefit Concert starting up at 5:30 at Tulane University's - McAlister Hall. The performance includes local legend Deacon John, along with the Believe Symphonic and Jazz Bands. It's going to be a great concert and tickets are only $5!!!

If you're looking for a couple of wine tastings after work....head on down to Cork & Bottle (3700 Orleans) at around 5ish for some great wines....then make your way over to Swirl (3143 Ponce de Leon) at about 6 for another round of wine tasting, and check out their tapas bar too for some great food!!

After you get your wine on...There's lots more good music going on tonight!!

Head on over to Chickie Wah Wah on Canal for their happy hour with Wilson & Moore at 5:30, then stay on for Paul Sanchez at 8:00, and The Ramblin' Letters String Band at 10:00...what a fun way to spend your Friday evening...and don't forget to come hungry cause they got yummy food going on in the kitchen!

Celebrate Sweet Home New Orleans Tonight!

Celebrate Valentine's Day a little early with a FREE operatic performance of some "Sweet Songs and Sweet Treats" by vocalists from the New Orleans Opera Association for a very special Opera on Tap at The Inn On Bourbon's Puccini Bar (541 Bourbon) tonight at 7:00 pm!   The Inn On Bourbon is located at the site of the French Opera House (1859-1919) and continues to celebrate its history with the live performance series.  Special $5 parking at The Inn On Bourbon is extended to all guests attending the performances.

Farmer's Market and Music this Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday Everybody,

You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market!!!  Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and pick up some fresh seafood, veggies and you can even get some lunch!  Babcia Kubiak bread baker Graison Gill and Bywater communal commercial kitchen Delicious ringleader Anne Churchill team up for a month of delicious lunch menus...on the menu this week: kale, smoked onion and Ryals cheese curd quiche, shiitake ya ka mein with boiled egg, noodles, smoked tofu and green onion, honey garlic meatball banh mi and honey garlic lentil ball banh mi, both in a homemade pistolette with zesty sauce and tart Asian slaw, raw kale salad with carrot almond vinaigrette, heart shaped chocolate flourless cake with freshly whipped cream, and rich hot chocolate....yummy!!

Celebrate a Super Bowl Anniversary!

Happy Monday Everybody!  One year ago today the City was in a football frenzy....Do some reminiscing and some celebrating today!
