Do you love marching bands?  Well I've got just the thing for you this evening!  It's the Tulane Marching Band Spring Concert tonight at 7:00 pm over at Dixon Hall at the Uptown Campus.  Concert goers will enjoy music with a Latin-Jazz influence, plus feature performances by the Green Wave Brass Band and TUMB Color Guard.  The show culminates with a Mardi Gras finale, highlighting the music and spirit of the carnival season.  Come one - come all...and it's FREE!

If you forgot to eat some food at the Square and are looking for some great music and food after the concert head on over to The Rendon Inn (4501 Eve Street - in beautiful Broadmoor) for some great food and some excellent music with Marc Stone...he'll get things going at 7:00 pm!!

Head on down to the Quarter for the Jazz in the Park Concert Series at the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park (916 N. Peters) the FREE concert starts up at 3:00 pm with a performance by Stephen Dale.

The Trinity Artists Series continues today at Trinity Episcopal Church (1329 Jackson) with Ruby Caribbean Funk led by Rudy Mills....the fun starts up at 5:00 pm and it's FREE!

As I hear the rain falling outside my window...I'm guessing tonight might be a better night to find indoor activities...but hey, it's gonna be warm so you can put on that rain gear and brave the rain!

Celebrate New Years early with the kiddies it's the Louisiana Children's Museum (420 Julia) New Year's Eve Kids' Countdown today from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.!!! Celebrate the New Year with your loved ones, Sesame Street's The Count and Wendy from Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers!  Participate in a balloon release and a confetti drop at noon. Plus, enjoy lots of fun activities and a live musical performance from David Ludman and the Noontime Revelers from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.  Cost is $2 per member and $8 per non-member in advance or $10 at the door for non-members.

Start off your evening early with a GLEEFUL concert at the Trinity Artist Series (1329 Jackson Ave.) tonight at 7:00 pm!! FREE of charge....It's the the Yale Whiffenpoofs (14 of them). The New Orleans Bayou Steppers Social Aid and Pleasure Club invites you to their Holiday Celebration of the Youth Music Clinics, featuring holiday songs with Ms. Margie Perez, Youth Music Clinic leader Shamarr Allen, and the Youth Music Clinic participants...Tonight at the Sound Cafe' (2700 Chartres).  Clinic begins at 5:30 and music starts up at 6:30!  This holiday celebration is free and open to the public.  Food and libations will be available with the great music!!  The Youth Music Clinics are sponsored by Silence is Violence through the N.O. Bayou Steppers and are open and free to all New Orleans area youth, accompanied by an adult.

It's a Coats for Kids Benefit Concert tonight at the St. Louis Cathedral at 7:30 pm..... The Faubourg Quartet presents a collection of its members' most beloved favorites, a fun and eclectic mix of varied genres, including tango, blues, jazz (composition by New Orleans native son, Wynton Marsalis), as well as some of the most beautiful works of Schumann, Mendelssohn, and Dvorak. And as a special treat, you will not want to miss Jeremy Davenport, as he joins the Faubourg Quartet in their finale, Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World"!   Admission is free, but please bring a coat for a needy child.
