Celebrate Valentine's Day Early - with Champagne and Music!

It's a cold one, but there's lots of good stuff going on today!

Don't miss out on the weekly wine tasting at Cork and Bottle about 5:00 pm in Mid-City and tasting is free!!  And be sure to stop by the Crescent City Farmer's Market and patronize local Louisiana vendors with fresh veggies, seafood and more! 

It's An Evening of Local, Artisan Producers, at Swirl (3143 Ponce de Leon) from 6:30-8:00pm....They're bringing you a very special event this week to help you out with your Valentine's Day!  Taste your way around the shop with delicious truffles and chocolates from Bittersweet Confections or maybe some pesto and dips with Heather Champagne of Geaux Gourmet.  Sample creamy domestic cheeses and spicy chutneys from St. James Cheese or melt in your mouth shortbread cookies from Odi's Delicacies by Marlene Moises.  James Moises will be in the house around 7:00 pm with a tasting of small production Oregon wines and Neil Gernon with Neat Wines has a a new sparkling Shiraz that will be awesome to pair with some of those chocolates! FREE!!

Bring your sweetie tonight to Red Fish Grill (115 Bourbon) for an amazing Moet & Chandon Champagne tasting from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Oyster Bar......$10 gets you 5 sample tastings...yum!!!  Come hungry and stay on for the delicious dinner!!

It's a night of opera inspired music at The Ogden Southern Museum of Art concert today for Ogden after Hours.   Music starts up at 6:00 pm and just in time for Valentine's Day, the group Encore! explores themes that run through some of the greatest love songs of all time.  From jazz standards, to musical theatre, to classical pieces, bring your special someone and hum along as you get in a romantic mood with Encore! (and you'll love the interview with WWOZ dj Bill deTurk)!!

Tonight at the St. Louis Cathedral The Historic New Orleans Collection presents the Fifth Annual "Musical Louisiana" -"Identity, History, Legacy: La Société Philharmonique" a FREE concert with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra concert which showcases works once performed by a 19th-century orchestra of free men of color....The performance starts at 7:30 p.m.
