Memorial Day....A Time to Remember

Today is the day to remember all those that served our country, so that we may have the freedoms we appreciate every day.....Thank you.

It would be a lovely day to visit the National World War II Museum (945 Magazine St.)
The Museum will also host a day of events designed to honor and remember.9:00 am – 10:00 am Memorial Hall — An opportunity to meet with veterans
9:30 am – 10:30 am “Saving History: Preserving Your Family Story” (Session 1)
10:00 am – 10:20 am Performance — Navy Band New Orleans
10:30 am – 11:30 am Memorial Day Commemorative Ceremony
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm “Saving History: Preserving Your Family Story” (Session 2)
2:30 pm – 3:00 pm Performance — The Victory Belles
3:00 pm – 3:10 pm Traditional Observance of a Moment of Silence
Ringing of the Normandy Victory Bell

Once you're finished with your own backyard BBQ and's some musical events going on this evening.

If ya'll are wondering down Frenchmen Street be sure to stop by the Spotted Cat for a full afternoon and evening of shows....4:00 pm Brett Richardson, 6:00 pm Dominic Grillo & The Frenchmen Allstars and not be be missed at 10:00 the Jazz Vipers!!

If you're headed to the Quarter there's a few things you can do this evening.   Go down to hear another amazing early evening show with Bob French and the Original Tuxedo Band at Irvin Mayfield's Jazz Playhouse show starts around 8:00 pm...with NO COVER.

If you're lookin' for some bluegrass music this don't have to go too far to find it....Check out the Hi Ho Lounge on St. Claude and the Bluegrass Pickin' Party at 8:00 pm...there's no cover and FREE red beans at this show too!

If you're still on Frenchmen Street and be sure to make a stop by the Spotted Cat for the Jazz Vipers at 10:00's sure to be another great Monday evening show.
