Memorial Day Weekend - Festival Fun!!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend Everybody!!

There are plenty of fun events going on this weekend!!

It's the second day of the fabulous Greek Fest (on the corner of Robert E. Lee and St. Bernard) with this year's Greece on the Bayou...Went there last night, and there is plenty of food, music, dancing and crafts!  Make sure you stock up on some ouzo - OPA!!

Head on over to Gretna for the Gospel Festival (1232 Truxton St.)...there's gonna be lots of choirs, drill teams, a health fair and food galore sponsored by the Missionary Baptist Association from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm today!!

And if you're looking for a great little road trip...(it's really not that far)...You've got to head on over to Gonzales for the Jambalaya Festival today through Sunday in Gonzales (120 Irma Blvd.)!!  The festivities get kickin' up today at 6:00 am and run through midnight....."The World's Largest Jambalaya Cook-Off" is the big event with rides, music, a car show, cooking contests and more then 20 bands!!  For more details on all the fun and how to get there...click on the link above!!

Don't forget the Arts Market of New Orleans at Palmer Park (corner of S. Claiborne and S. Carrollton from 10 am to 4:00 pm today!!  Free and open to the public!  Discover distinctive gifts that celebrate the unique style of your Dad this Father's Day with locally handcrafted treasures.  Choose from glass, metal, wood and leather art  to paintings, photographs, yard decor and more created by more than 100 of the region's best artists. Plus live music with Ken Swartz & The Palace of Sin at 1:00 pm, and Lips & the Trips at 2:30.. food and drink from  your favorite local restaurants, and exciting and educational kid's activities.

Come join  St. Augustine High School (2600 A.P. Tureaud) for their big Alumni Crawfish Boil  from 2:00 pm-6:00 pm today!!!  $20 gets you all the crawfish you can eat plus red beans and rice, jambalaya, and sno-balls (kids under 10 get in free with paid adult!!)...so go on out there and fill up on the crawfish and the fun!!
