Thursday Vino Fun!!

Another lovely Thursday and lots of fun going on in the City!

Don't miss out on the weekly wine tasting at Cork and Bottle (3700 Orleans ) about 5:00 pm in Mid-City and the tasting is free - you can try out these six yummy wines: Graffigna - Argentina Reserve Malbec, Graffigna- Argentina Reserve Pinot Grigio, Elsa Bianchi- Argentina Torrentes, Oyster Bay- New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, Oyster Bay- New Zealand Pinot Noir, and Oyster Bay- New Zealand Merlot!!  And be sure to stop by the Crescent City Farmer's Market and patronize local Louisiana vendors with fresh veggies, seafood and more! 

It's another installment of Tasting at the Track...Starting up at 6 p.m. you can try 35 wines for $25 at tonight’s “Tasting at the Track.”  The Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots hosts “The Grape Adventures: A Varietal Journey from Albarino to Zinfandel. The reception-style tasting will be held in the clubhouse, and feature red and white varieties including Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Malbec to name a few. Cheese and wine experts will also be on hand to answer questions.  Fun!

Need some culture and music? You gotta go to the show at the Ogden Southern Museum of Art - better known as Ogden after Hours.  The concert starts up at 6:00 pm. with Cajun music from The Vermilionaires from Lafayette, Louisiana, .....so come on down for some music, culture, fun and cocktails....don't miss it!!  (Members get in free!)

Go hang out at City Park this evening for The Thursdays at Twilight Garden Concert Series with entertainment by Banu Gibson!!! The gates open up at 5:00 pm and the performance starts at 6:00 pm in the City Park Botanical Garden Pavilion of the Two Sisters...There is an admission charge, but hey, it's helping the Park out..so....it's a good thing...$8 for adults and $3 for children.

Not too far from City Park you can get your food fix and dance it off too!!  Head on over to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) the music is jammin' and the kitchen is open with amazing food from Taceaux Loceaux!!  Check out the swing dance lessons from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and stay on for Tuba Skinny & Erika Lewis!!!

There's lots of good stuff on Frenchment Street with an amazing double header of music at dba (618 Frenchmen)...it's Paul Sanchez with Alex McMurray and Mary Lasseigne at 7:00 pm and stay on for Los Po-Boy-Citos at 10:00 pm with a low low cover of $5!!

While on Frenchmen move on down to the Three Muses (536 Frenchmen) for the sounds of Washboard Rodeo at 7:30 pm - the music will get you movin' on into the weekend with no problems and they got yummy food too!
