Starring Irene Cara, Lonette McKee, and Philip Michael Thomas, and featuring original music by Curtis Mayfield, the low-budget original has since reached cult classic status since its successful mid-1970s release.
MUSICALLY SPEAKING is a series of music-themed movie and documentary screenings, curated/hosted by DJ Soul Sister, and co-presented by Press Street, Charitable Film Network, WWOZ FM, and the N.O. African American Museum. Free admission and refreshments. Contact info@press-street.com

Each performer will have time for 3 songs and hopefully the evening will conclude with some jamming and collaboration. The show starts at 8:30 pm. Come play or just enjoy! Support you local Singer/Songwriter Scene!
There's a great musical evening on the Avenue at the The Columns (3811 St. Charles Ave.) at 8:00 p.m. tonight! Have a fancy cocktail and listen to the guitar sounds of John Rankin and Todd Duke.

It's a fun night over at the Maple Leaf Bar on Oak Street...with the REBIRTH Brass Band - they come on around 10:30ish - there's a cover, but you'll be glad you paid and stayed up late!!
