You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market! Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm for the freshest veggies, fruits and seafood. This month the Market welcomes Cafe' Hope to the GPS tent for April! This week their bringing some delicious food with Shrimp, Crab & Okra Gumbo w/ Cajun Grains Rice, Two Run Farm Ground Lamb Cabbage Rolls w/ Cajun Grain Rice, Kale & Swiss Chard Salad with Sprouts, Cucumber, Tomato, Shredded Carrots, Tamari Pumpkin Seeds, Meyer Lemon Vinaigrette, and Strawberry Ice Box Pie. Most of their items are gluten-free, which makes them friendly for most diet! .....yum!

"Musically Speaking:" free screening of Celia the Queen tonight at the Antenna Gallery (3718 St. Claude Ave.) at 7:00 pm - This inspiring documentary about Celia Cruz, the “Queen of Salsa,” tells the story of the little girl from Havana who became an international diva, bringing the sound of salsa music to the world. When she fled Castro's Cuba in 1960 and arrived in the U.S., she continued an already-successful career, fueled by her partnerships with salsa greats Tito Puente, Willie Colon, and Johnny Pacheco. Ironically, while she became known as the voice of Cuba around the world, her once beloved music was banned in her home country. Also featuring David Byrne, Quincy Jones, Gloria Estefan, Andy Garcia, Cachao, Wyclef Jean, and more.
MUSICALLY SPEAKING is a series of music-themed movie and documentary screenings, curated/hosted by DJ Soul Sister, and co-presented by Press Street, Charitable Film Network, WWOZ FM, and the N.O. African American Museum. Free admission and refreshments. Contact info@press-street.com

The NOLA Japanese Cinema Series at Cafe Istanbul (2372 St. Claude Avenue) continues with tonight's film Occult - Kôji Shiraishi is interested in strange indiscriminate murder at a sightseeing resort. He goes behind the camera to investigate the circumstances surrounding strange occurrences and interview the survivors. Japanese with English subtitles.

Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and pick up some fresh seafood, veggies and you can even grab some lunch! December brings the fabulous food truck Geaux Plates to the Tuesday market. They'll be set-up right along side where the GPS tent usually is (making room for additional seating under the tent). Stop by and enjoy one of their delicious homemade soups or their Barq's Root Beer Braised Cochon de Lait......yummy!!
Festive Fun!!
Enjoy the sounds of the season at the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Louis in Jackson Square. Produced by French Quarter Festivals, Inc., the St. Louis Cathedral Concerts feature a variety of New Orleans artists including well-known jazz, classical, and gospel musicians. Beloved holiday classics and gospel favorites will be performed in one of the country's most beautiful and historic churches.

And there's more holiday fun at City Park with Celebration in the Oaks! The Celebration runs nightly through January 1st - Sunday thru Thursday from 6:00 pm to 10:00pm and Friday & Saturday 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm (closed Christmas Eve and New Years Eve). Produced by French Quarter Festivals, Inc., the St. Louis Cathedral Concerts feature a variety of New Orleans artists including well-known jazz, classical, and gospel musicians. Beloved holiday classics and gospel favorites will be performed in one of the country's most beautiful and historic churches.
Tonight's concert is The Faubourg Quartet from 6:00 to 7:00 pm - check out the full schedule below and make plans to hear some great music in a beautiful setting!

Celebrate the season at Lafreniere Park (3000 Downs Boulevard) - The annual “Holiday in the Park” The beautiful light display is nightly from dusk 'til 9:00 pm and admission is $3 a car. The light display is generously donated by the family of the late Al Copeland - The park comes alive for the holidays with thousands of twinkling lights and displays.
And there's more holiday fun at City Park with Celebration in the Oaks! The Celebration runs nightly through January 1st - Sunday thru Thursday from 6:00 pm to 10:00pm and Friday & Saturday 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm (closed Christmas Eve and New Years Eve). There are fabulous new exhibits, nightly entertainment, synthetic ice skating rink, amusement park rides. Happy Tuesday with a Saint, Christmas Fun & Lots of Music!
Good Morning All - Let's see what's going on today!
Special Events Today!
You know him, you love him!! Come meet one of our most beloved Saints ever, Hollywood Joe Horn at the Rouses on Tchoupitoulas this afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00 pm! I hear he has some delicious bbq sauce and maybe he'll even sign a bottle for you!
Tonight is the Ceremonial Lighting of The Roosevelt's Waldorf Wonderland Lobby from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm! To kick off the holiday season, The Roosevelt New Orleans will flip the switch to light the Waldorf Wonderland Lobby with the help of actor and New Orleans native Bryan Batt. The hotel's grand lobby will be transformed into a canopy of white birch branches and tens of thousands of twinkling lights. Tonight's event will feature live entertainment, a visit from Santa, complimentary champagne and hors d'ouevres by The Roosvelt's Executive Chef Stefan Kauth and Cody Curl, sous chef of the Sazerac Restaurant also will be served. And don't forget the one-of-a-kind gingerbread village, created by Deborah Heyd, pastry chef at The Roosevelt, will be on display in Teddy's Café - it's going to be a magical Christmas filled evening!
The Trinity Artist Series continues tonight at Trinity Episcopal Church (1329 Jackson Ave.) with "Organ & Labyrinth" with Albinas Prizgintas on the 5000 pipe Trinity tracker organ. The program includes some of the greatest music ever written ranging from Classical Baroque to vintage rock and popular tunes. The concert is from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm and it's FREE!

Tuesday with A Lighting of Canal, Some Potluck and Music!
Good Morning All - Looks like the holidays are coming a little early today!

You can get your day started off right and your Thanksgiving menu complete with a trip to the Farmer's Market!!! Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and pick up some fresh seafood, veggies and you can even grab some lunch! November brings Ann Churchill of Karma Kitchen to the Green Plate Special tent. Come try the smoked fish spread or pork belly and tangy slaw on a bagel, creamy fennel and oyster soup, grilled market vegetable salad with romesco vinaigrette, mushroom bread pudding with creamy Creole mustard sauce, braised greens with pomegranate molasses, sweet potato mash and Meyer lemon tarts with cornmeal crust.......yummy!!

Stroll along Canal Street and watch as the Downtown Development District and the Astor Crowne Plaza (739 Canal)"flip the switch," turning on more than 1 million twinkling lights on New Orleans' grand corridor.
