Starting today the Wednesdays on the Point concert series kicks off in Algiers and runs through July 25th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., and of course, admission is FREE...Tonight head to the Algiers Ferry Dock (200Morgan St.) for The Wild Magnolias plus The Lagniappe Brass Band - remember you can take the ferry over for free - it's a beautiful ride across the river! Check out the Canstruction Exhibition - The AIA New Orleans will begin a month-long exhibition of sculptures and pictograms made entirely of canned goods with a reception tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at their Center for Design (1000 St. Charles Ave.). This year's "Canstruction" features the theme "10,000 reasons to love New Orleans;" each structure, donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank, is built with the intention of providing 10,000 canned meals. The overall goal of Canstruction is to collect 100,000 meals.

The New Orleans Guitar Quartet Phil deGruy, John Rankin, Cranston Clements & Jimmy Robinson play a concert and live filming and recording session in the beautiful theater at The Mint (400 Esplanade) tonight at 7 p.m. Admission is Free and open to the public, all ages. The concert will be filmed, and a multitrack recording made. Be a part of this exciting concert and event!
