Starting today the Wednesdays on the Point concert series kicks off in Algiers and runs through July 25th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., and of course, admission is FREE...Tonight head to the Algiers Ferry Dock (200Morgan St.) for The Wild Magnolias plus The Lagniappe Brass Band - remember you can take the ferry over for free - it's a beautiful ride across the river! Check out the Canstruction Exhibition - The AIA New Orleans will begin a month-long exhibition of sculptures and pictograms made entirely of canned goods with a reception tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at their Center for Design (1000 St. Charles Ave.). This year's "Canstruction" features the theme "10,000 reasons to love New Orleans;" each structure, donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank, is built with the intention of providing 10,000 canned meals. The overall goal of Canstruction is to collect 100,000 meals.

Tonight head on down to the Quarter for an amazing concert with New Orleans Guitar Masters. The New Orleans Guitar Quartet Phil deGruy, John Rankin, Cranston Clements & Jimmy Robinson play a concert and live filming and recording session in the beautiful theater at The Mint (400 Esplanade) tonight at 7 p.m. Admission is Free and open to the public, all ages. The concert will be filmed, and a multitrack recording made. Be a part of this exciting concert and event!
Have fun in Mid-City when you head on over to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for some happy hour drinks and stay on for Meschiya Lake & Tom McDermott at 7:00 pm. Come hungry - the kitchen is kickin' with pizza and all kinds of yummy food!

A Tuesday w/Veggies, Guitar Masters a Double Header at Chickie's & More!
Good morning everybody and happy Tuesday!!
Farmer's Market!
You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market!!! Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and Greg and Mary Sonnier of The Uptowner is serving up lunch under the Green Plate Special Tent. This week vegetarian black bean soup, succotash, chicken fajita salad, jalapeno cornbread and Mary's carrot cake cupcakes....yummy!!
Good Music Tonight!
And there's a great evening on the Avenue....Cause it's another lovely southern night for porch sitting and music over at the The Columns (3811 St. Charles Ave.)...Have a fancy cocktail and listen to the guitar stylings of the New Orleans Guitar Masters - John Rankin, Phil deGruy, Cranston Clements and Jimmy Robinson!
Head on over to Mid-City and to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal)! They've got the Sweet Olive String Band at 5:00 pm, and be sure to stay on for Tommy Malone on guitar and Bill Malchow on piano at 8:00 pm - come hungry for delicious pizza, pasta, salads and more!!
Right down the street the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) has a double header with no cover - Brett Richardson at 4:00 pm, Smokin' Time Jazz Club at 6:00 pm, and top off the evening with Meschiya Lake & The Little Big Horns at 10:00 pm!
End your night over at the Maple Leaf Bar on Oak Street...with the Grammy Award winning REBIRTH Brass Band they come on around 10:30ish - there's a cover, but you'll be glad you paid and stayed up late!!
