TGIF w/Free Donuts, Wine, Beer & Lots of Music!

It's the weekly wine tasting over at Cork & Bottle (Orleans at Moss St.) - from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.  Come out and sample some fantastic wines!

And you can double your wine tasting fun! Check out Swirl located on Ponce de Leon right off Esplanade and enjoy a FREE wine tasting at 6:00 pm. Once you've tasted one of their excellent choices you'll be sure to be buy a bottle!

And then there's beer!! Join WYES, your local public broadcasting station, along with local and national beer distributors for two days of beer tasting - and well...just for a real good time! Friday's event, WYES PRIVATE BEER SAMPLING, held at the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots pays tribute to the craft of American and European brewers. With over 50 rare craft brewed beers, specially made cask and home brewed beers, as well as special one-off beers from local breweries - this limited ticket event is one you don't want to miss.
Then on Saturday night at the Lakefront Arena during the WYES INT'L BEER TASTING, enjoy a quarter-mile of beer by sampling regional craft beers, ales and lagers. Check out The Where Y'Art? party this evening over at the New Orleans Museum of Art starting at 5:00 pm with Gallery & Exhibition Tours, lots of fun activities and music!! The event is FREE with museum admissions. $10 Adults, $8 seniors, students, active military, $6 children ages 17 to 7, children 6 and under are free.

While some of the MelaNated writers are originally from cities like San Francisco, Memphis, Cleveland and London, all currently call New Orleans home.

Head on over to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for happy hour and stay on for Alex McMurray with Carlo Nuccio, Matt Perrine and Bill Malchow at 8:00 pm - and be sure to come hungry for delicious pizza and more!

And there's more good music in Mid-City (almost Uptown) over at Rock 'N Bowl (3016 S. Carrollton) for The Iguanas at 9:30 pm!! Remember if you eat at Ye Olde College Inn right next door you get a discount to the show! Happy rockin' and bowlin'!

Let the Carousel Lounge in the Monteleone Bar (214 Royal) spin you around with the swinging sounds of Lena Prima at 9:00 pm.  It's a cool place for some fun and fancy cocktails!

You can get started early at the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) with Ben Polcer at 4:00 pm, Washboard Chaz Jazz Trio at 6:00 pm, and the New Orleans Cottonmouth Kings at 10:00 pm.
