It Really is Super Sunday!

Good Morning All,

I'm so glad I don't have to type with my feet, cause my dogs are barkin' from yesterday's Easter Keg Hunt....but it was worth it.  Glad we got to travel through the Road Food Fest several times on Royal Street for some nourishment - if you missed it yesterday - you get another chance to check out today...the food is incredible!!

So here's what's going on this beautiful Sunday!!

Sunday Events


The Road Food Fest continues today from 11 AM to 6 PM - FREE ADMISSION!  The fest is 5 blocks of Royal Street in the heart of the French Quarter and it will be the home of 20 vendors serving regional specialties, everything is soooo delicious!  (For complete info - click on the link above).

  • Shrimp Uggie made by Anthony and Gail Uglesich, who are coming out of retirement to participate
  • Louie Mueller's Texas barbecue and hot sausage
  • Maine Diner seafood chowder
  • Que Crawl Truck Cochon de lait po boy
  • Bud Royer's Pecan Pie from the heart of Texas - a la mode
  • Louisiana Meat Pies and Crawfish Pies from Lasyone's of Nachitoches (it was the best meat pie I ever ate!!!)
After you've gotten your fill of food (is that, REALLY possible??)  Check out the events for the 24th Annual Tennessee Williams Literary Festival.  This is the final day and ends it ends with a bang with the Stanley and Stella contest which takes place in Jackson Square at 4:00 pm.  This is a fun one if you've never been, or been before - start practicing your yelling techniques!

NOLA Pyrate Week continues with pirate themed activities to benefit local charities and continues in Dutch Alley with the Land of Nod Wetlands Awareness Event - Performer will include CoCo Robichaux, and many others!!!

The much anticipated rescheduled Super Sunday 2010 is happening today at Taylor park - Washington Avenue and S.  Derbigny Street.  There will be performances by the Mardi Gras Indian Tribes and guests include the Hot 8 Brass Band, Stooges Brass Band, Big Al Carson, Jo Cool David and many others!!  The event begins at around 11:00 am and parade starts at 1:00 pm....It should be a beautiful day for this event!

If your heading down to da' Parish....it's going to be another fun and yummy day at the Louisiana Crawfish Festival in St. Bernard.  Festivities gear up at 12 noon and go to 10:00 pm tonight!

Nickel-A-Dance continues on at Maison , 508 Frenchmen St - with Lionel Ferbos & The Palm Court Jazz Band....show starts at 4:00 pm...it's FREE and children are welcome!!

The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra Outdoor Concert is happening today at 4:00 pm (gates open at 2:00) at Brechtel Park, in Algiers - and it's FREE.  Be sure to bring your yummiest picnic food and libations!!  If will be a lovely day to listen to classically trained musicians!!!

Uptown Tipitina's has a dancing evening in store for you at the Cajun fais do-do with Bruce Daigrepont at 5:30 pm.
