Erin Go Braugh and Weekend Events!!

It's parade time again - and there ain't nothing more free than a parade where you can catch your own dinner. Throw me some cabbage Mister!!!!


Below are a list of all the St. Patrick's parades and events for the week starting today:

Jim Monaghan's Annual Irish Parade - Friday, March 12th at 7:00 pm parade starts at Molly's at the Market - 1107 Decatur Street

Irish Channel St. Patrick's Parade - Saturday, March 13th parade begins after Noon mass at St. Mary's Assumption Church - corner of Constance and St. Mary Street

Metairie Road St. Patrick's Day Parade - Sunday, March 14th at Noon parade starts at Rummell High School.

Parasol's St. Patrick's Day Block Party - Wednesday, March 17th party starts in the morning and ends when the sun goes down (or possibly longer) corner of Third and Constance Streets.

Downtown Marching Club St. Patrick's Day Parade - (my personal favorite!) Wednesday, March 17th at 6:30 starts at the corner of Burgundy and Piety Street (near Markey's Bar)


More fun stuff this weekend!

Arnauds's located at 813 Bienville Street presents - Frappe Fridays March 12th and March 19th both lunches are from 11:30am - 1:30pm. 
The New Orleans Cultural and Culinary Preservation Society is inviting all cocktail enthusiasts to explore Herbsaint a little further at Frappe Fridays. During this series of seminars, we'll dive head first into the history of this legendary liquor and some of the city's most accomplished bartenders will lead demonstrations on how to craft a number of Herbsaint cocktails.

Vino On The Bayou at the Pitot House Museum 1440 Moss Street Friday, March 12, 2010 from 5:30 to 7:30 featuring Traditional Gypsy Jazz by the Courtyard Kings.
$10 per person, $5 for Landmarks members

It's Ladies Day at the New Orleans Fair Grounds - come see Rachel Alexandra, 2009 Horse of the Year, is set make her 2010 debut this Saturday at the Fair Grounds in the $200,000 New Orleans Ladies Day Race. The 1 1/16-mile test has attracted four females to take on the four-year-old filly.  Post time is approximately 6:15 p.m.

The Foburg Music Festival - Make sure you check out the new Foburg Music Festival this weekend in the Marigny - it's New Orleans answer to SXSW. I think this Festival will be going places! It's a 3 day event starting today and going through Sunday. Weekend passes are $25 in advance and $30 the day off - now that's a deal....Check out the lineup you get for that price!! You can also buy tix for individual shows for about $5.
