St. Paddy's Day Hangover......Happy St. Joseph's Day Eve!

Wow - yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day!  I don't think I've ever seen Parasol's so crowded before - it was loads of fun, ran into old friends and made some new ones too!!  My only request is this....and if anyone from Parasol's is out there listening - more port o'lets...pretty please  :)

After the Parasol's fun - we headed over to Markey's for the Downtown Irish Club parade....Once again my personal favorite.  It was a blast!!  Dancing in the street to an amazing band (who were those guys??) and the beer was flowing..now I'm just trying to recover, but I will do it!!

Now on to today's adventures.........

Featured - Thursday Events

St. Joseph's Days Altars

Now this is an amazing "only in New Orleans" event.  The altars are a Sicilian tradition and celebrated in honor of St. Joseph (of course)...My only suggestion is go check it out and experience it for yourself - you will be sooo glad you did!

Click on the complete list I just found and don't forget to check out the Times-Picayune classifieds for more altars at local residences - I think those are always the best!!

The Usual Fun Free Thursday Stuff!

Be sure to check out the Ogden Museum of Southern Art this evening for Ogden After Hours.  It's a classical show with some incredible Korean musicians...and my husband will be doing the interview - so it will be both informative and a fun show!!  If you have a little time to kill before the show - run by the Circle Bar (on Lee's Circle) and get a drink - they're happy hour is a good one!

The Mid-City Farmer's Market - 3:00 to 7:00 at Orleans Avenue and Bayou St. John. You can also stop by Cork and Bottle for a FREE wine tasting from 5:00 to 7:00 fun!!  I also heard a rumor that Johnny Sansone is playing out there with a free show too (more free!!)  so you should definitely head on down for some good food, wine and music!

I'm afraid I'm going to be a bit lazy today and sign off for now...(I need to run off and take a couple of tylenol for my green beer headache)...but for a complete listing of today's music and more fun stuff - click on Offbeat - they got all your live local music listings.

See ya tomorrow!!!
