TGIF....Happy St. Joseph's Day!!

BUONGIORNO!!

So glad it's Friday........really glad :)  Another fun spring weekend in New Orleans and there are lots of things to do - so let's get this party started!!

Friday Evenings at Swirl

This is always a fun way to start off the weekend.  Check out Swirl located on Ponce de Leon right off Esplanade and enjoy a FREE wine tasting at 6:00 pm.  Once you've tasted one of their excellent choices you'll be sure to be buy a bottle!

Spring Opening of the Degas House Courtyard

And go right down the street and visit the home of the famous artist Edgar Degas (2306 Esplanade).  You can enjoy a beautiful spring evening this Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.  There will be lively tunes from famous DJ Frank Stansbury and FREE admission.  All proceeds from food and drink sales to the Edgar Degas Foundation.  (FREE parking is available American Federation of Musicians' Union Hall, 2401 Esplanade Avenue).

You say - you still don't know what to do???  There's even more fun!!

Concerts in the Courtyard of the Historic New Orleans Collection

What a treat this is.....Experience a concert in the courtyard of the Historic New Orleans Collection in the heart of the French Quarter - 533 Royal Street.  The show is from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with the Panorama Jazz Band...FUN!!!


Admission is $10, FREE for THNOC members, and includes 3 complimentary beverages (Rain Organic Vodka is providing)!!!  Guests must be 21 or older to enter and memberships begin begin at $35.00 per household.

Featured - Friday Music

This what I'd be doing if I was out tonite!!!

Threadhead Fridays at Chickie Wah Wah - an amazing show with Paul Sanchez and friends.  Music starts at 8:00 pm and be sure to check out the fabulous food from the kitchen - yummy!!!

Check out d.b.a. in the Marigny with their no cover show at 6:00pm Hot Club of New Orleans jams in the house and at 10:00pm (there is a cover) Good Enough for Good Times rolls in for a rockin' show!

And for the big rockin' show for the evening it has to be at the one and only Rock 'N Bowl - it ain't free, but it's well worth the dinero....show starts at 9:30 with Bonerama and the Radiators!!!

Make sure you're listening to WWOZ 90.7 from 11-2 pm for the Louisiana Music Party...it promises to be an amazing show with lots of special guests (see yesterday's post)!!
