Farmer's Market!

You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market!  Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm for the freshest veggies, fruits and seafood. This month the Market welcomes Cafe' Hope to the GPS tent for April! They have outdone themselves with this Tuesday’s menu! Can't wait to try the oyster and tomato soup, the sweet potato biscuit and pork belly slider and the strawberry & beet salad. Bring your appetite, and finish it all off with their sweet-sounding fresh strawberry tart....yum!!!

Musical Movie Fun!

"Musically Speaking:" free screening of The Five Heartbeatstonight at the Antenna Gallery (3718 St. Claude Ave.) at 7:00 pm - This feature-length musical drama, loosely based on the stories of The Temptations, the Four Tops, The Dells, and others, follows the three-decade rise and fall of a fictional R&B vocal group The Five Heartbeats. is the story of five young friends drawn together by music. Their dream of success takes them from amateur nights in ghetto clubs to the pinnacle of show business success and personal tragedy. Written, directed by, and starring Robert Townsend, and co-written by Keenan Ivory Wayans.

Good Music Tonight!

Head on down to the Louisiana Music Factory (210 Decatur) at 6:00 pm for a special in store concert performance it's the Ken Colyer Trust Party featuring Kid Simmons' New Orleans Jazz Band!!

There's a great musical evening on the Avenue at the The Columns (3811 St. Charles Ave.) at 8:00 p.m. tonight!  Have a fancy cocktail and listen to guitar playing man, John Rankin!

Head on over to Mid-City and to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) John Fohl will be joined by Alvin Youngblood Hart at 8:00 pm - don't miss out and come hungry for a Sammich!

Have some fun at the Allways Lounge (2240 St. Claude) with the All-Star Covered-Dish Country Jamboree starting at 9:00 pm with  Patrick Cooper + Ryan Williams + The Hokum High Rollers. See you there!

There's some fun on Frenchmen tonight too over at d.b.a. (618 Frenchmen) with the The Treme Brass Band at 10:00 pm - there's a $5 cover for the show - but you know you don't want to miss it!

Right down the street the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) has a triple header with no cover - Andy Forest at 4:00 pm, Meschiya Lake & The Little Big Horns at 6:00 pm, and top off the evening with the Smokin' Time Jazz Club  at 10:00 pm!

It's a fun night over at the Maple Leaf Bar on Oak Street...with the REBIRTH Brass Band - they come on around 10:30ish - there's a cover, but you'll be glad you paid and stayed up late!!
