Wednesday with a Benefit, Concert at the Square, a Book Signing and Lots of Music Around Town!

Benefit!

Come out to help Officer Passaro tonight with a spectacular concert at Generations Hall (310 Andrew Higgins) - It's Rock-n-Roll for Passaro from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm! There's going to be music from Charmaine Neville, the Bucktown Allstars, the Wiseguys to just name a few!

*Local community leaders are hosting this major fundraising event for NOPD Officer John Passaro who was severely injured after he was shot several times during a robbery in the Bywater. Tickets are $25  in advance and $30 at the door (entrance includes restaurant tastings and 3 complimentary beverages).  Tickets are available at any NOPD District Station or Gulf Coast Bank & Trust New Orleans locations (St. Charles, Carrollton and Harrison Avenue). Also, tickets are available online at the New Orleans Police & Justice Foundation’s website at www.NOPJF.org

Concert Time!

Wednesday at the Square is rolling along - So come on down to Lafayette Square for another stellar line-up for this year's concert series....there will be crafts, food and libations....The Revivalists + Disco Demolition Knights get things movin' this evening at 5:00 pm - and check out the entire line-up so you can make your plans.

Book Signing!

Come by The Historic New Orleans Collection (533 Royal Street) tonight from 6:00 to 8:00 pm for the Launch Party for The Historic New Orleans Collection's Latest Book - A Company Man: The Remarkable French-Atlantic Voyage of a Clerk for the Company of the Indies, presents the fascinating, uncensored travelogue of a young Frenchman who ventured to New Orleans in 1729. Recently rediscovered and never before published, Marc-Antoine Caillot's buoyant memoir has been translated from the original French and published, with an introduction and annotations by THNOC staff historian Erin M. Greenwald. Copies will be available for purchase at the event.

Have fun in Mid-City when you head on over to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for  for Meschiya Lake & Tom McDermott at 7:00, and be sure to stay on for Cary Hudson at 9:30 pm!!! And get your sammich early - kitchen closes about 9 tonight...

And there's more fun in Mid-City over at the Banks Street Bar (4401 Banks)! Come on out for a double header with Smashing Blonde at 8:00 pm and stay on for Major Bacon and some FREE BLTs - tonight at 10:00 pm...you can never get enough of the bacon and no cover!!

Looking for some dinner and then some music for dessert?  Rock 'N Bowl (3016 S. Carrollton) can help you out!  Get an entree' over at Ye Olde College Inn and then get a half price ticket to the show right next door at Rock N' Bowl....Dance the night away with Johnny J & The Hitmen with Derek Huston at 8:30 pm!!

Heading over to Frenchmen Street?  Lots of places with no cover, but don't forget to tip the talent!!

There's great music this evening on Frenchmen Street tonight at d.b.a.  (618 Frenchmen) - with an early and a late show.  Come check out The Tin Men at 7:00 pm with no cover - And then it's Walter "Wolfman" Washington and the Roadmasters at 10:00 pm - cover's only $5.00 and you know the Wolfman's worth it!

The Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) has an afternoon and evening filled with music!!  Ben Polcer at 4:00, The Orleans 6 at 6:00 pm and top off the night with St. Louis Jim & The Frenchmen St. Jug Band!
