French Market Fun, Art, Wine and Lot's o' Music!

TGIF!!!!

Sneak out of work a little early and head on down to the French Quarter and the French Market for "Fridays at the French Market"!  Look for the Bud Light Stage at Gov. Nicholls between the French and the Flea Markets - You've got music with Sweet Jones at 4:00 pm, and stay on for Flowtribe at 5:00 pm - the Markets will be open for all your food, drink and shopping fun!

Get your Art on over at the McKenna Museum of African American Art (2003 Carondelet) from 6:00 to 9:00 pm - Tonight is the opening reception for Hue Orleans: Ayo Scott's Eye View.  Experience the moment when classic New Orleans sites and happenings come alive through the psychedelic eyes of New Orleans native Ayo Y. Scott!!

This is always a fun way to start off the weekend.  It's the weekly wine tasting over at Cork & Bottle (Orleans at Moss St.) - today they have a wine flight with flavorful picks from the staff over at C & B... Come taste some great, affordable bottles today at the FREE tasting from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

And you can double your wine tasting fun!  Check out Swirl located on Ponce de Leon right off Esplanade and enjoy a FREE wine tasting at 6:00 pm. Once you've tasted one of their excellent choices you'll be sure to be buy a bottle!

You say - you still don't know what to do??? There's even more fun!!

Head on over to Chickie Wah Wah on Canal for their happy hour with the Pfister Sisters at 5:30 pm (no cover!), then stay on for Paul Sanchez at 8:00 pm, and top off the evening with the amazing trio of Michael Skinkus, Jimmy Robinson & Cranston Clements...and don't forget to come hungry cause they got yummy food going on in the kitchen!

And even more fun close to Mid-City (almost Uptown) over at Rock 'N Bowl (3016 S. Carrollton) it's the Help with special guest Beth McKee (with an Evangeline reunion!)...If you remember the Cold from the '80's (and even if you don't) you're gonna love the Help - you'll be dancin' the night away!!  Remember if you eat at Ye Olde College Inn right next door you get a discount to the show!  Happy rockin' and bowlin'!
