Veggies, Sushi Fest and Mo' Music!

Happy Tuesday Everybody!!

Special Fun Today!

You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market!!!  Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and pick up some fresh seafood, veggies and you can even grab some lunch!  Susan Spicer's Mondo is cooking each Tuesday in June at the Market.....on the menu today: Watermelon gazpacho, smothered okra with rice and fried onions, and some sort of delicious fig dessert.. ....yummy!!

There's some good music this afternoon at 2:30 pm over at the Old Metairie Library (2350 Metairie Rd.)....take the kids and the whole family to hear Ricardo Crespo and Sol Brasil...you and the kiddies will be dancin' the afternoon away!

Looking for some sushi, wine and beer?  Well then head on over to Cork & Bottle (3700 Orleans) for the Sushi Festival - 6:30 pm tonight!!  Nosh your way through a selection of nigiri sushi, maki, and sashimi, as you sip on crisp whites, delicious beers, exotic and domestic, and some exciting new sakes! But most importantly, you'll be the judge!  So brush up on your chopstick skills and grab a couple of friends.  Cost is $30 for this fun evening - to RSVP, please call 504-483-6314.

Good Music Tonight!

It's gonna be a great evening to hang out at the The Columns (3811 St. Charles Ave.)...Have a cocktail and listen to the amazing guitar playing of John Rankin with  Clarence Johnson III at 8:00 pm...it's a lovely night for porch sippin'!

Head on over to Mid-City and Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for Grayson Capps at 8:00 pm.  He's just released a brand new CD, so I'm sure he'll be playing some old and new favorites!!  Plus come hungry for the delicioso Taceaux Loceaux!

There's a triple header over at the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) starting up at 4:00 pm with Brett Richardson, then stay on for Smokin' Time Jazz Club at 6:00 pm, and finish off the night with Voodoo Town at 10:00 pm!!

Start and end your night over at the Maple Leaf Bar on Oak Street...For the early show you've got the 101 Drummers with special guest Big Chief Monk Boudreaux!!!  And make sure you stay up late for the REBIRTH Brass Band they come on around 10:30ish - stay up a little late tonight!!
