Free Super Bowl Fun!!
Tonight!! Verizon Super Bowl Boulevard: Woldenberg Park at 1 Canal Street. Admission is free. It's happening from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Featuring a lineup of local music artists, popular food and beverage offerings, live national television broadcasts, interactive fan events and the iconic larger-than-life Super Bowl Roman numerals.
Verizon Super Bowl Boulevard is a marquee event "where Super Bowl lives," hosted on the grounds of Audubon Nature Institute's iconic Woldenberg Park. The Boulevard features a four-day lineup of local music artists, popular food and beverage offerings, live television broadcasts from the NFL Network, SportsNet and Comcast, and the Super Bowl roman numerals.
Free to the public, Verizon Super Bowl Boulevard will open today and runs daily until Super Bowl Sunday. Complementing the public entertainment, broadcast, and celebratory offerings on Super Bowl Blvd., fans of all ages will have opportunities to interact with numerous NFL and Host Committee partner events. The main attraction, the larger-than life XLVII Roman Numerals, standing at 30 feet high and over 100 feet wide, will arrive at their home in the Mississippi River by barge at 6:30 pm. Celebrate New Orleans' Perfect 10th Super Bowl with a true New Orleans-style festival!

Come meet the Budweiser Clydesdales tonight!! All proceeds will benefit the N.O.P.D. Mounted Division. The event will take place at the N.O.P.D. Mounted Division’s Stables located at Harrison Avenue and Marconi Drive in City Park. Admission is FREE. The Budweiser Clydesdales will be present for photos and other activities. Additionally, attendees can participate in a raffle to win a ride on the Budweiser wagon pulled by the Clydesdales during the Argus parade.
Food from Drago’s and Zatarain’s will be available for purchase at $5 per serving, along with beverages provided by Budweiser and Coke. Live music will be provided by The Yat Pack and The Hangovers. Don't miss these beautiful horses!!

Carnival Friday w/the Krewe of Cork, Parade Bars, Chewbacca Sighting and More!
TGIF - It's Carnival Time!!!
Startin' it off with the Krewe of Cork - The parade, accompanied by a 12-piece band, and begins around 2:00 p.m.....The Krewe begins on Royal Street between St. Peter Street and Toulouse Street, will follow Royal Street southwestward to Iberville Street, proceed northwest on Iberville for one block to turn northeast on Bourbon Street and proceed to St. Ann Street, where it will turn southeast. From St. Ann, the parade will turn southwest down Chartres Street. At St. Peter Street, the parade will turn northwest and proceed to Royal Street. Once the parade has turned southwest down Royal Street, it will proceed to Conti Street. The krewe will turn northwest and finish the parade on Conti between Royal Street and Bourbon Street. Head on over to Chickie Wah Wah on Canal for their happy hour and a triple header of music this evening. First it's Wyndham Baird for Happy Hour at 5:30 pm with no cover! Stay on, because at 8:00 pm it's the soulful sounds of Arsene Delay, and top off the evening with Cranston Clements and his twin sons Austin and Tyler at 10:00 pm!! There's a small cover for the second shows - but you know it's worth the dinero!
You can get started early at the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) with Andy Forest at 4:00 pm, Washboard Chaz Blues Trio at 6:00 pm, top the night off with the Cottonmouth Kings at 10:00 pm.

Chewbacca Sighting!
It's Save a Life Day: Peter "Chewbacca" Mayhew Signing and Blood Drive tonight at BSI Comics (3030 Severn) starting at 5:00 pm. The members of the Bast Alpha Garrison will join forces with the mighty Chewbacca! Actor, Peter Mayhew, will be appearing at BSI Comics for a photo op and signing during the blood drive. Peter & Angie Mayhew will be reigning as King and Royal Consort of the 2013 Krewe of Chewbacchus Parade on Saturday 1/26/13.

Startin' it off with the Krewe of Cork - The parade, accompanied by a 12-piece band, and begins around 2:00 p.m.....The Krewe begins on Royal Street between St. Peter Street and Toulouse Street, will follow Royal Street southwestward to Iberville Street, proceed northwest on Iberville for one block to turn northeast on Bourbon Street and proceed to St. Ann Street, where it will turn southeast. From St. Ann, the parade will turn southwest down Chartres Street. At St. Peter Street, the parade will turn northwest and proceed to Royal Street. Once the parade has turned southwest down Royal Street, it will proceed to Conti Street. The krewe will turn northwest and finish the parade on Conti between Royal Street and Bourbon Street. Happy Thursday with a Salu' Wine Dinner, Food Truck Fest and Lots of Music!

Don't miss out on the weekly wine tasting at Cork and Bottle (3700 Orleans ) about 5:00 pm in Mid-City - Taste some amazing wines. Sip, shop and purchase your favorite wine! You can also head on over to Clever (right next door) for a great cocktail after attending the free wine tasting. And be sure to stop by the Crescent City Farmer's Market (in the parking lot) and patronize local Louisiana vendors with fresh veggies, seafood and more!
Need a little art, culture and music? You gotta go to the show at the Ogden Southern Museum of Art (925 Camp St.) - better known as Ogden after Hours. The concert kicks off at 6:00 pm as the Ogden presents Seva Venet's Storyville Stringband. Keeping the sounds of New Orleans string band jazz alive, the Storyville Stringband led by guitarist Seva Venet is a New Orleans Traditional Jazz band that performs on strings rather than horns. The music pulls from the same repertoire, rhythms and spirit as the funky down-home sound of a brass band, but without the brass.! Tonight the O BAR's specialty cocktail is the Saints Sidecar! *Remember with your Ogden membership all of these excellent concerts are FREE!!!

Tonight get some delicious dinner and wine at Salu' (3226 Magazine) - Executive Chef Dustin Brien has prepared a four course menu (plus intermezzo) paired with wines selected by General Manager Greg Thomas that take you along a journey through the Mediterranean. For only $50 (plus tax and gratuity), this meal is sure to be an experience guests won’t forget!
Two dining times are available (6:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.) with limited seating (30 seats per timeslot), and customers can call the restaurant at 504-371-5809 to make an advance reservation.
