Happy Weekend with Vino, Ouzo/OPA, Jambalaya and More!!

Happy Three Day Weekend - Woop woop!!!

Vino Fun!!

NOWFE - Grand Tasting!!
Looking for amazing vino, delicious food, and music?  Then head on down to the Convention Center today and tomorrow for the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience (NOWFE) Grand Tastings this evening from 6 to 9 pm and tomorrow from 2 to 5 pm.  You're going to have an amazing time (believe me!!) Click here for all the information and get on down there for the fun!!

Looking for more wine - then head on over to Bayou St. John (cause it's a wine kind of weekend!)  It's the Friday Free for All from 6 to 8 pm at Swirl Wine Bar & Market (3143 Ponce de Loen).  Don't miss our crazy fun Friday tasting with Beth Kehn pouring four great domesitc wines including some of the Jed Steele selections and chef Walter's "must-try" small plates! This tasting is free!  And be sure to look out for the Swirl folks over at The NOWFE Grand Tastings too!!

And there's more wine on the Bayou! It's Vino on the Bayou at The Pitot House (1440 Moss St.) from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Come enjoy the May Vino on the Bayou tasting with wine courtesy of Pearl Wine Co., musical entertainment from Harmonouche, and food will be available for purchase from Jacques-Imo's and Crabby Jack's - so come hungry! $5 admission for Landmarks members and $10 general admission.

Greek Fest!!
Well, if it's Memorial Day weekend it can only mean one thing...and that's Greek Fest (1200 Robert E. Lee Blvd.) The Big 4-0PA!!! It's the 40th annual Hellenic party with a uniquely New Orleans flair!  Join the fun for delicious food, delightful drinks, and entertainment the entire family will enjoy.  (Entrance fee is only $5...and children under 12 get in FREE!) The fest runs all weekend, and tonight things get kickin' at 5:00 pm...Oh....and make sure you check out the ouzo daiquiri...it's a good one!

And if you're searching for a great little road trip...(it's really not that far)...You've got to head on over to Gonzales for the Jambalaya Festival today through Sunday in Gonzales (120 Irma Blvd.)!!  The festivities get kickin' up today with cooking contests starting up at 10:00 am and the fun runs through midnight....."The World's Largest Jambalaya Cook-Off" is the big event with rides, music, a car show, cooking contests and more then 20 bands!!  For more details on all the fun and how to get there...click here!!

Grand Opening!

It's the Grand Opening of Rabbit Ears (8225 Oak Street) the home of vintage furniture & all kinds of good stuff!!!  The long-anticipated opening  of Rabbit Ears vintage furniture & stuff is opening on Friday (tonight!!) Come out for a glass of wine and peruse the huge display of fabulous furniture and smalls.
