**Community activist, neighborhood leader, and mother, Kara Morgan, was diagnosed with Stage IV Melanoma in February 2013, and has begun aggressive treatment at the renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Over and above what her medical insurance covers, Kara will incur the cost of frequent trips to Houston with extended overnight stays. These expenses, combined with the mounting out-of-pocket medical costs, will place a significant financial burden on Kara and her family.

It's time to do some Sippin' in Seersucker this evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Shops at Canal Place (333 Canal St.) - Don your best seersucker ensemble - or summer chic - for the party that kicks off the summer social season. Hosted by the Shops at Canal Place, the event benefits the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Party goers will enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres from local restaurants and luscious libations; shopping specials, entertainment with Bonerama and Luke Winslow-King, and raffles.
