Happy Hump Day with Trombone Shorty, Opera, A Blood Drive and Lots of Music 'Round Town!

Concert Time!

Wednesday at the Square is rolling along - So come on down to Lafayette Square for another stellar line-up for this year's concert series....there will be crafts, food and libations....Trombone Shorty plus Westbank Mike get things movin' this evening at 5:00 pm  *Be sure to check out the entire line-up only one more Wednesdays to go!

Opera!

Come join the "sensatiable" singing trio, Bon Operatit!, and The New Orleans Film Society for a free evening of favorite tunes from opera and Broadway and a taste of the next season. at the Four Points Sheraton (541 Bourbon)in the Puccini Bar from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.  So bring your friends and family to the Four Points Sheraton. The Four Points has a special valet parking rate of $5 during the concert when you mention the event.

Music and a Donation!

Come listen to some great music and help out too! Tonight it's the Musician's Clinic Blood Drive from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Frenchmen Street Art Market (617 Frenchmen St.). It's a drive to help the victims of the Mother's Day Shootings. Enjoy music from David and Roselyn, The Honey Pots and Carl LeBlanc.  The Original Big 7 Social Aid & Pleasure Club, which held the second line near where the shootings took place, will be in attendance...The Spotted Cat, d.b.a. and Snug Harbor are assisting with the event, and clubs along Frenchmen Street will be open to give donors a place to wait out of the sun. Donors are particularly needed from 6-9 p.m. If you want to donate blood, please email office@nomaf.org - Come on out for a great cause!!

Wednesday Evening Music

While you're on Frenchmen Street check out all the music up and down the street!!

There's great music this evening on Frenchmen Street tonight at d.b.a.  (618 Frenchmen) - with an early and a late show.  Come check out The Tin Men at 7:00 pm with no cover - And then it's Walter "Wolfman" Washington and the Roadmasters at 10:00 pm - cover's only $5.00 and you know the Wolfman's worth it!

The Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) has an afternoon and evening filled with music!!  Ben Polcer at 4:00, The Orleans 6 at 6:00 pm and top off the night with St. Louis Jim & The Frenchmen St. Jug Band!

Have fun in Mid-City when you head on over to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for Meschiya Lake & Tom McDermott at 8:00 p.m. And be sure to come hungry for your sammich!!

And there's more fun in Mid-City over at the Banks Street Bar (4401 Banks)! Come on out for Major Bacon and some FREE BLTs - tonight at 10:00 pm...you can never get enough of the bacon and no cover!!

Looking for some dinner and then some music for dessert?  Rock 'N Bowl (3016 S. Carrollton) can help you out!  Get an entree' over at Ye Olde College Inn and then get a half price ticket to the show right next door at Rock N' Bowl.....Get on your dancing shoes for Swing-A-Roux tonight at 8:30 pm!!
