Hikin', Crawfish and Record Store Celebrations!!

Good Morning it's a beautiful Saturday and time to play outside!!

Hike the Lafitte Corridor will take place today at 10:00 a.m. departing from Basin Street near Armstrong Park. Since establishment, each year Friends ofLafitte Corridor (FOLC) holds a hike where they lead the communitythrough the three-mile stretch of vacant land that will soon be transformed into a greenway. The greenway will link the followingneighborhoods: the French Quarter, Tremé, Mid-City, Faubourg St. John, City Park and Lakeview. This event is FREE and open to the public (registration is encouraged).

Celebrate at Avant Garden today from11:00 am to 5:00 pm (2216 Esplanade Avenue) FREE.....With over 30+ artists, designers, taste-makers, food-makers and drink-makers- Avant Garden's goal is to provide an alternative to the usual local Arts Markets by a process of individually inviting vendors that represent emerging talent in the city, enriching our cultural economy as a whole. With music by DJ Joey Buttons/Disko Obscura.

It's Crawfest time over at Tulane - a full day of tons of crawfish (literally), music, more food and crafts.  If you're Tulane student, faculty or staff you get the crawfish for free....other folks can pay $10 and get all the crawfish they want!  Check out the schedule...with band like the Roots of Music with Rebirth, Anders Osborne and The Givers!!  Click the link above for more info and see the music schedule below!


It's Record Store Day at Euclid Records!!  Head on down to 3401 Chartres and expect bands bands bands, many CRAZY limited and RAD releases, Sugar Park slingin' slices of pizza, booze for the buyin' and much hilarity/positivity! Invite your buds!  Check out the great musical line-up

It's gonna be a good one!!!
