French Quarter Festin' and So Much More!!!

Good Morning Everybody,

It's finally here....Yea!!

Today is the first day of French Quarter Fest, and today is locals day...so sneak out of work and head on down to the biggest free festival in the South!!  Head to Jackson Square around noon for the world's largest brunch and some amazing music...then cruise down to the River around 3ish when the music gets crankin' over there!  Click on the link for all the music, food and fun info!

Don't miss out on the weekly wine tasting at Cork and Bottle (3700 Orleans ) about 5:00 pm in Mid-City and tasting is free.....  And be sure to stop by the Crescent City Farmer's Market and patronize local Louisiana vendors with fresh veggies, seafood and more! 

Need a little culture and music? You gotta go to the show at the Ogden Southern Museum of Art - better known as Ogden after Hours.  The concert starts up at 6:00 pm. with a trio from the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and check out the signature drink for the evening..the "O" Mai Tai!!!....so come on down for some music, culture and fun and the amazing Bill deTurk (my hubby) will be doing the in depth interview this evening..don't miss it!!

Go hang out at City Park this evening for The Thursdays at Twilight Garden Concert Series with Gal Holiday and the Honky Tonk Review! The gates open up at 5:00 pm and the performance starts at 6:00 pm in the City Park Botanical Garden Pavilion of the Two Sisters...There is an admission charge, but hey, it's helping the Park out..so....it's a good thing...$8 for adults and $3 for children.

Are you hungry for some great music, dancing and food....then head on over to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) the music is jammin' and their kitchen is back open with some amazing food!!  Here's what's happenin' tonight - 6-7 pm: advanced Lindy Hop Lesson, 7-8 pm: all levels Swing dance lesson and stay on for social dancing with  Tuba Skinny and Erika Lewis!!  Lessons and cover are only $5.00!

Need crawfish?  You can get your free crawfish cravin' fixed this evening at Maison Frenchmen on Frenchmen Street (of course) tonight at 7:00 pm!  Bar patrons can load up on crawfish for the low low price of $5 a pound and don't forget about the $5 pitchers!  And of course FREE live music all night long with Jayna Morgan and the Sazerac Sunrise Band at 7:00 pm and Kevin O'Day at 10:00 pm!  **Check club for music....not sure if this correct...also heard Jayna is playing at Three Muses (right down Frenchmen Street tonight at 10:00 pm...either way...check it out :)
