Mignon Faget, Wine, Music and More!

Happy Thursday,

I'm back from a lovely vacation...and trying to get back in the groove.  So, here's some fun stuff going on today!

Don't miss out on the weekly wine tasting at Cork and Bottle about 5:00 pm in Mid-City......and be sure to stop by the Crescent City Farmer's Market and patronize local Louisiana vendors with fresh veggies, seafood and more!  Stay on for Jumpin' Johnny Sansone for the 6:30 pm show!!

Join The Historic New Orleans Collection (533 Royal) for the opening reception of the new exhibition Mignon Faget: A Life in Art and Design.  Curator Judith H. Bonner will join the designer to meet guests and discuss the exhibition. This event is free and open to the public tonight from 5:30 to 8:00 pm.

You should also check out The Ogden Southern Museum of Art concert this Thursday....better known as Ogden after Hours.   Music starts up at 6:00 pm with Henry Gray, this legendary pianist, who has performed at almost every New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, plays Chicago blues, Swamp boogie and traditional blues......and be sure to check out the O-Fashioned cocktail: Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey, Cointreau, Peychaud's bitters and a splash of soda water, and orange and lemon juices...(and remember if you get down there early - go grab a cocktail at the Circle Bar on Lee's Circle...one of the best happy hours in town!)

You can also go hang out at City Park this evening for The Thursdays at Twilight Garden Concert Series with the Panorama Jazz Band! The gates open up at 5:00 pm and the performance starts at 6:00 pm in the City Park Botanical Garden Pavilion of the Two Sisters...There is an admission charge, but hey, it's helping the Park out..so....it's a good thing...$8 for adults and $3 for children.  (Click link above to confirm this event due to rain).

And for all your musical fun this evening be sure to click on the WWOZ Livewire!
