Labor Day Weekend Fun!!

Happy Labor Day Weekend Sunday!!

Southern Decadence continues on this weekend....so head on down to the Quarter for all the fun, and today is the big parade starting up at the Golden Lantern (1239 Royal St.) at 2:00 pm. This year's theme is "Leather and Feathers," and the official colors are black, powder blue and purple.  So, bust out your best leather and feather boa!!!

Today is the Empire South Pass Tarpon Rodeo FREE Uplifting the Coast Concert concert in Empire to help those affected by the oil spill.  The concert is located Bridge Side Marina and goes from 10 am-7 pm today.....sponsored by the 50th Anniversary Grand Isle Redfish Rodeo...and check out this musical line-up:  Zebra, LeRoux, Debbie Landry, Jamie O'Neal, Andy Griggs, Joe Diffie, Doug Stone, Sammy Kershaw, Mark Adam Mill, David St. Romain and Christian Serpas and Ghost Town and many more...so head on down, have some fun and help out!!

Celebrate Labor Day Weekend with The Black Men of Labor with their annual second line parade to honor the city's workers, including the many brass band musicians who work to make New Orleans' culture unique. The annual Black Men of Labor Parade will take place this afternoon and formation begins at 2 pm. The parade will start at 3 pm at Sweet Lorraine’s Jazz Club (1931 St Claude Ave.) and will follow its traditional route through the Treme neighborhood, ending back at Sweet Lorraine's approximately 4 hours later.  So head on down to celebrate this important holiday!
