A Benefit Concert!
Swing For Meschiya Lake tonight at the Maison (508 Frenchmen) and help raise funds for the singer, whose home was burglarized. A Monday with Christmas Cheer and Some Great Music!

Tonight is the Ceremonial Lighting of The Roosevelt's Waldorf Wonderland Lobby from 5:45 pm until 7:00 pm! To kick off the holiday season, The Roosevelt New Orleans will flip the switch to light the Waldorf Wonderland Lobby. The hotel's grand lobby will be transformed into a canopy of white birch branches and tens of thousands of twinkling lights. Tonight's event will feature live entertainment with St. Michael's Bell Choir - it's going to be a magical Christmas filled evening!

And while your Uptown - Enjoy some cocktail porch sippin' over at the Columns Hotel (3811 St. Charles)....Tonight David Doucet of fame BeauSoleil performs at 8:00 pm!

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
Happy Thanksgiving Day Eve!
Thanksgiving Day Eve can only mean one thing...and that's going to Superior Grill (yes, I know it's not Que Sera), but it's the closest thing you'll get to the good old days. So head on over to 3636 St. Charles for beer specials all day, margarita and 2 For 1 Happy Hour from 3:30 to 6:00, and music from Flow Tribe starts up at 6:00 pm. It's gonna be a party all day long and a portion of the proceeds benefit Children's Hospital!

Don't drink too many margaritas - the night is still young and there's lots of partying to do. Turkey tastes even better when your tired and hungover!

Christmas starts a little early with Canal Street Lighting Ceremony in front of the Astor Crowne Plaza (739 Canal Street) at 5:30 p.m. Stroll along Canal Street and watch as the Downtown Development District and the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel “flip the switch,” turning on more than 1 million twinkling lights on New Orleans’ grand corridor. Stop by the hotel’s St Charles Ballroom just off the lobby from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and decorate your own holiday cookie while enjoying complimentary hot cocoa or apple cider. Santa will be there to hear your wish list for the holidays. Bring an unwrapped, new toy for local charities and receive a free picture with Santa!
Pay it Forward!
Tonight enjoy amazing music and help send relief! It's NOLA Pay It Forward Concert to benefit Hurricane Sandy recovery and relief efforts. The concert takes place tonight at 7:00 pm at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts. Performers include Irvin Mayfield, Ivan Neville, Amanda Shaw, Stephanie Jordan, James Andrews, Big Sam's Funky Nation, Mia Borders, Khris Royal, Sasha Masakowski, the Stooges Brass Band, and the Wild Magnolias with Big Chief Monk Boudreaux. Money raised with the concert will go to the NOLA Pay it Forward Fund at the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF). It will be used to support non-profit organizations assisting in Hurricane relief and recovery efforts.

On every ticket sold, Ticketmaster will donate $3.90 of its service fee to the NOLA Pay it Forward Fund. Farmer's Market!
You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market! Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm for the freshest veggies, fruits and seafood. Today for the Green Plate Special they welcome La Divina Gelateria. This week they'll have truffled cauliflower soup, braciole, sautéed greens and fresh mozzarella sandwich, green beans with pine nuts, and turnip parmesan fries with smokey tomato "catsup". Save the cooking for later this week and enjoy lunch at the market!
And if you want more fresh veggies head on over to the Hollygrove Market. You can go by their location at 8301 Olive Street between Noon and 6:00 pm, and they have a new pick-up location and from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Rosa F. Christmas starts a little early with Canal Street Lighting Ceremony in front of the Astor Crowne Plaza (739 Canal Street) at 5:30 p.m. Stroll along Canal Street and watch as the Downtown Development District and the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel “flip the switch,” turning on more than 1 million twinkling lights on New Orleans’ grand corridor. Stop by the hotel’s St Charles Ballroom just off the lobby from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and decorate your own holiday cookie while enjoying complimentary hot cocoa or apple cider. Pay it Forward!
Tonight enjoy amazing music and help send relief! It's NOLA Pay It Forward Concert to benefit Hurricane Sandy recovery and relief efforts. The concert takes place tonight at 7:00 pm at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts. Performers include Irvin Mayfield, Ivan Neville, Amanda Shaw, Stephanie Jordan, James Andrews, Big Sam's Funky Nation, Mia Borders, Khris Royal, Sasha Masakowski, the Stooges Brass Band, and the Wild Magnolias with Big Chief Monk Boudreaux. Money raised with the concert will go to the NOLA Pay it Forward Fund at the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF). It will be used to support non-profit organizations assisting in Hurricane relief and recovery efforts.
*Tickets for the event are $50 per person and are available at Ticketmaster by calling 1-800-745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. On every ticket sold, Ticketmaster will donate $3.90 of its service fee to the NOLA Pay it Forward Fund. The NOLA Japanese Cinema Series at Cafe Istanbul (2372 St. Claude Avenue) continues with tonight's film - DEPARTURES by Yôjirô Takita. When his orchestra disbands, Daigo Kobayashi moves back to his hometown and takes a job preparing corpses for burial. Too embarrassed to admit his new career to his family, Daigo keeps his profession a secret, until he’s faced with the death of someone close to him. Academy Award Winner for Best Foreign Film.

Featured music includes the show ‘Extra Curricular Activities’ with music by Pink Floyd, the Police and Van Halen, PLUS a salute to the 200th anniversary of Louisiana statehood with the ‘1812 Overture,’ and the show entitled ‘Cirque de LA,’ featuring music from native Louisianans Britney Spears, the Meters and Louis Prima. Don't miss it!
Enjoy some cocktails and music after the concert with some porch sippin' over at the Columns Hotel (3811 St. Charles)....Tonight David Doucet of fame BeauSoleil performs at 8:00 pm!

To top off you're evening....you gotta go Uptown and over to the Maple Leaf (8316 Oak) for Papa Grows Funk at 10:00 pm - they'll get your Monday night funked up -remember there's a cover - but it's worth it!!!
