Tuesday Fun w/Veggies, Twangobangorama & a Radiator!

Good Morning Everybody - Lots of good stuff going on today!

You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market!!!  Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and get some yummy lunch with Beaucoup Juice - shoppers have been loving their salads, paninis, and of course juices. It's the last week to catch them under the Green Plate Special tent. Try a Carne-val Panini and a Flu Buster juice, or grab a Delicious Delachaise salad and a big cup of their Freret juice for a tasty, healthy lunch....yummy!!

Good Music Tonight!

It's gonna be a beautiful evening to hang out at the The Columns (3811 St. Charles Ave.)...Have a fancy cocktail and listen to the guitar stylings of John Rankin - it's going to be a lovely evening to hang out on the Avenue!

Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) has an amazing show tonight with the one and only Twangobangorama with Jimmy Robinson & Michael Skinkus at about 8:00 pm - you don't want to miss this show - and come hungry for delicious pizza, pasta, salad and more!!

You need head on down to the Hi-Ho Lounge (2239 St. Claude) tonight for legendary guitarist Camile Baudoin (of The Radiators) and The Living Rumors as they return for two more shows! Tonight (8pm) and Friday Feb. 3rd (9pm)! There's probably a cover, but this show is worth the dinero - call for more info at 945.4446.

There's some fun on Frenchmen tonight over at d.b.a. (618 Frenchmen) with the Treme Brass Band at 9:00 pm - there's a $5 cover, but that's practically free!

Right down the street the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) has a triple header with no cover - Brett Richardson at 4:00 pm, Aurora Nealand's Royal Roses at 6:00 pm and top off the evening with Cassidy and the Orleans Kids at 10:00 pm!

End your night over at the Maple Leaf Bar on Oak Street...with  the REBIRTH Brass Band they come on around 10:30ish - there's a cover, but you'll be glad you paid and stayed up late!!

Monday Monday....with Music!!!!

Happy Monday Everybody - Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend..here's some good stuff going on tonight!

Monday Night Music

If you're Uptown - Enjoy some cocktail porch sippin' over at the Columns Hotel (3811 St. Charles)....Tonight David Doucet of Beausoleil fame performs at 8:00 pm tonight!

Head on down to Mid-City and to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for piano playin' man Jon Cleary at 8:00 pm...he'll get you in that Mardi Gras spirit and don't forget to come hungry for some delicious pizza and other good stuff from the kitchen!!

There's more fun in Mid-City over at the Banks Street Bar (4401 Banks) come by about 10:00 pm for the N'awlins Johnnys and FREE red beans tonight!

Gratis NOLA Weekend Fun w/Art, Tet Fest, Beer, Pussyfooters & More!

Hooray for the weekend!!

There may not be any football going on this weekend, but there's lots of good stuff going on!

Saturday Fun and Music!

Come to the Palmer Park Arts Market between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and celebrate the Carnival season with over 100 of your favorite visual artists, tasty food and drink, live music, and kid's activities in beautiful Palmer Park on the corner of S. Carrollton and Claiborne. This is the last Market before Mardi Gras, so don't miss out on your chance to get one-of-a-kind Carnival essentials this weekend!  They'll have crafts galore at the Kid's Tent, located near the newly renovated playground space. The fun starts at 10:30 with a performance for kids of all ages by the story teller Donald Lewis. Live Music begins at 1:00 with Sombras Brilhantes, followed by Estelle Campagne at 2:30...See you at the Market!

Celebrate the Vietnamese New Year all weekend long at the Tet Festival in New Orleans East at Mary Queen of Vietnam Church (5069 Willowbrook Dr.).  The Vietnamese New Year's celebration marks the Year of the Dragon with food, entertainment and cultural activities.  This is a truly fun and delicious event with so many yummy foods to try...Not only will there be Vietnamese delicacies this year, but there's also going to be samplings of Latin food!!  The fest runs Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.  For more info call 254-5660.

Carnival season is upon us and Cree McCree's Annual Mardi Gras House Sale is the costume motherlode (3728 Laurel St.)! Party with a Purpose! It's time to party down with the Pussy footer's at the Blush Ball from 9:00 to 1:00 am at The Foundry (333 St. Joseph St.)!! And if you're Uptown over by Lee's Circle stop by The Irish House (1432 St. Charles) about 7:00 pm for one of the best Irish traditions in the world: a Ceili! What’s a Ceili, you ask? Sunday Fun and Music!

Grab some delicious brunch and delight in the sounds of the Courtyard Kings starting up at 11:00 am over at Cafe' Rani (2917 Magazine)...Nothing like some Bloody Marys and some great music!

Along the way, he and his band Juice have been named "Best Emerging Funk/Soul/R&B Band," been nominated for "Best Roots Rock Band" and "Best Roots Rock Record." They have been described by local media as a "supergroup" and "the personification of the New Orleans ethos."  Not only will Jordan be releasing a new album at this show, but he'll also be celebrating his birthday!  And head on over to the bar for this month's signature cocktail the "French 75 - O my!" A Wednesday with Tales, Carousels and the Symphony!!

There's some fun on Frenchmen tonight over at d.b.a. (618 Frenchmen) with the Treme Brass Band at 9:00 pm - there's a $5 cover, but that's practically free!

Right down the street the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) has a triple header with no cover - Brett Richardson at 4:00 pm, Aurora Nealand's Royal Roses at 6:00 pm and top off the evening with Meschiya Lake & The Little Big Horns at 10:00 pm!

End your night over at the Maple Leaf Bar on Oak Street...with  the REBIRTH Brass Band they come on around 10:30ish - there's a cover, but you'll be glad you paid and stayed up late!!
