TGIT w/Cookin' Fun, Happy Hours and Good Music!!

Good Morning Everybody - lots of good stuff going on!!

Thursday Events

Don't miss out on the weekly wine tasting at Cork and Bottle (3700 Orleans) about 5:00 pm in Mid-City - Taste some amazing wines.  So, come sip, shop and pick up your favorite wine or liquor! You can also stop at Clever (right next door) for their "tasting special" - $1 off your first cocktail after attending the free wine tasting.

And be sure to stop by the Crescent City Farmer's Market (right outside the door) and patronize local Louisiana vendors with fresh veggies, seafood and maybe even be on TV!!  Join James Beard Award-winning TV food personality Andrew Zimmern of the Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern and MSN's new Appetite for Life with Andrew Zimmern, and WWNO Louisiana Eats! host Poppy Tooker as they cook up shrimp etouffee for the crowd beginning at 3pm. Tastes of the authentic New Orleans dish will be given in exchange for contributions in any amount to support community programming at the Crescent City Farmers Market. Watch Zimmern and Tooker shop for ingredients directly from local farmers and fishers at the market, then learn how to make the iconic dish. The free event will be recorded for an upcoming episode of the new MSN web series "Appetite for Life with Andrew Zimmern" and Poppy Tooker's "Louisiana Eats!" radio program on WWNO 89.9FM.

Need a little art, culture and music? You gotta go to the show at the Ogden Southern Museum of Art (925 Camp St.) -better known as Ogden after Hours.  The concert starts up at 6:00 pm with Dave Jordan, has performed in all corners of the U.S., spreading the culture and vibe of New Orleans with a fierce dedication. Along the way, he and his band Juice have been named "Best Emerging Funk/Soul/R&B Band," been nominated for "Best Roots Rock Band" and "Best Roots Rock Record." They have been described by local media as a "supergroup" and "the personification of the New Orleans ethos."  Not only will Jordan be releasing a new album at this show, but he'll also be celebrating his birthday!  And head on over to the bar for this month's signature cocktail the "French 75 - O my!" Champagne, gin, simple syrup & lemon juice.   Remember if you're a member of the Ogden you always get in free!

*(Oh, and I  can finally say it again...if you get there a little early head by the Circle Bar right around the corner on Lee's Circle for a happy hour drink...yea!!!  And stop by after the Ogden too for Hot Club of New Orleans at 9:00 pm!)
