You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market!!! Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and pick up some fresh seafood, veggies and you can even grab some lunch! November brings Ann Churchill of Karma Kitchen to the Green Plate Special tent. We're super excited to try the Khmer pumpkin curry soup, lemongrass pork patties over Malaysian coconut rice, shiitake mushrooms and cabbage, Asian slaw and carrot cake cupcakes with candied ginger white chocolate frosting......yummy!!
The Trinity Artist Series continues tonight at Trinity Episcopal Church (1329 Jackson Ave.) with "Organ & Labyrinth" with Albinas Prizgintas on the 5000 pipe Trinity tracker organ. The program includes some of the greatest music ever written ranging from Classical Baroque to vintage rock and popular tunes. The concert is from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm and it's FREE!

Saturday Fest Celebratin' & Eatin' Some Elephant Gumbo!!

I'm pretty sure I know what you're doing tonight - either at your home, a party or a bar, but before you sit down to watch the Tigers cook up some Elephant gumbo there's some fun stuff going on this most beautiful day!
The animals are asking for you at the Audubon Zoo today, so head on down for the big Swamp Festival between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm- there's gonna be delicious food, crafts, cultural demonstrations and of course lots of Cajun and Zydeco music! The YeMaYa PARADE will be the first ever all-women, only-women walking parade in New Orleans. We have over 25 women's parading groups ready to hit the streets together in an historic outpouring of music, dance, costumes, creativity and sisterhood. Our groups include: Lady Buckjumpers, Pussyfooters, Camel Toe Steppers, Lady Rollers, Muff-a-lottas, Bearded Oysters, Sirens, NOLA Cherry Bombs and many more. Music provided by Mo' Lasses, The Local Skank and more. Our theme this year is "EVERY WOMEN A QUEEN." Our parade logo is a crown, which symbolizes the inherent dignity and worth of all women.
After the parade the fun continues at the Maison with "MUSIQUE at MAISON"

Celebrate the ladies all this week at Ladyfest 2011! The fun continues this evening at Maison (508 Frenchmen Street) for the event "LADIES SING THE BLUES"...It's a line-up of amazing music from some incredible women!

Need a little art, culture and music? You gotta go to the show at the Ogden Southern Museum of Art (925 Camp St.) -better known as Ogden after Hours. The concert starts up at 6:00 pm with Jeff and Vida.....A duo that adds a bluegrass sensibility to rock, honky tonk, country and come enjoy the delicious Fall Sangria at the "O" bar, and remember if you're a member of the Ogden you always get in free!

It's a lovely evening for some yummy cocktails and Latin music over at the the Columns Hotel (3811 St. Charles) this evening. Enjoy the sounds of Fredy Omar at 8:00 pm.
Spotted Cat Music Club (623 Frenchmen) has a triple header with Brett Richardson at 4:00 pm, Miss Sophie Lee at 6:00 and stay on and party with The New Orleans Moonshiners at 10:00 PM!!
If you're looking for some more dancing - head on over to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for swing dance lessons - 6:00 to 7:00 pm for beginners and 7:00 to 8:00 pm for advanced (go to http://www.nolajitterbugs.org/ for more info and to sign up for lessons.) And stick around afterwards for the surf rock of Sunny Duval at 9:00 pm (there might be a cover, but this is worth it)!
If you're looking for some dinner and then some music for dessert Rock 'N Bowl (3016 S. Carrollton) can help you out! Get an entree' over at Ye Olde College Inn and then get a half price ticket to the show right next door at Rock N' Bowl....There's gonna be some dancing going on cause it's Zydeco Night with the one and only Rosie Ledet at 8:30 pm - it's another fun night of rockin' and bowlin'!!

A Tuesday For Saints, Wine and Music
Good Morning All - Hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween - Let's see what's going on today!

You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market!!! Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and pick up some fresh seafood, veggies and you can even grab some lunch! November brings Ann Churchill of Karma Kitchen to the Green Plate Special tent. We're super excited to try the Lentil, Meyer lemon and cilantro soup, quinoa salad with pomegranate and Rockin' R Dairy goat cheese, lamb shwarma or homemade falafel with oven-roasted market vegetables, and Iranian pistachio cake......yummy!!
Today is also the 31st Annual Day of the Dead/Gede Celebration from 7:00pm to 10:00 pm at 3319 Rosalie Alley (Dirt Alley off of N. Rampart, Between Piety and Desire, in Bywater) Please wear white with a purple headscarf or black and purple for Gede. Bring a dish for the people and an offering for the Dead or Gede. Gede's tastes tend towards peppers, flatbreads, rum, cigars, goat stew, crosses, grave digger's tools, black cock feathers, skeletons, sunglasses with one lens, hot Creole foods, money, the colors black, mauve, and white. He is syncretized with St. Gerard. Or you can bring something that your ancestors or loved ones enjoyed in life. RSVP or for more info: (504) 948-9961.
Today is Wine Walk Tuesdays this evening from 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm starting at the Ste Marie (930 Poydras) and ending at Bouche...with many stops in between. 411-365 Creative is proud to introduce one of NOLA's premiere weekly events. The first series of events will begin at Ste. Marie and end at Bouche NOLA, stopping at destinations on the way. The Wine Walk Passport will allow you to sample unique wines and small bites, while paying homage to existing establishments in the CBD area as well as experience new, up-and-comers, along the way. The cost of the walk is all inclusive $20. Follow on twitter @411365creative or their Facebook page at 411-365 Creative for up to date information on participating locations and future strolls.
The Trinity Artist Series continues tonight at Trinity Episcopal Church (1329 Jackson Ave.) with "Organ & Labyrinth" with Albinas Prizgintas on the 5000 pipe Trinity tracker organ. The program includes some of the greatest music ever written ranging from Classical Baroque to vintage rock and popular tunes. The concert is from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm and it's FREE!

It's gonna be a beautiful evening to hang out at the The Columns (3811 St. Charles Ave.)...Have a cocktail and listen to the amazing guitar playing of John Rankin along with Todd Duke at 8:30 pm...this is going to be a good one!
There's some fun on Frenchmen tonight over at d.b.a. (618 Frenchmen) with the Treme Brass Band at 9:00 pm - there's a $5 cover, but this show is definitely worth the dinero!
Right down the street the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) has a triple header with no cover - Brett Richardson at 4:00 pm, Smokin' Time Jazz Club at 6:00 pm and top off the evening with Meschiya Lake & The Little Big Horns at 10:00 pm!
End your night over at the Maple Leaf Bar on Oak Street...with the REBIRTH Brass Band they come on around 10:30ish - there's a cover, but you'll be glad you paid and stayed up late!!
