A Tuesday For Saints, Wine and Music

Good Morning All - Hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween - Let's see what's going on today!

Special Events Today!

You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market!!!  Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and pick up some fresh seafood, veggies and you can even grab some lunch!  November brings Ann Churchill of Karma Kitchen to the Green Plate Special tent.  We're super excited to try the Lentil, Meyer lemon and cilantro soup, quinoa salad with pomegranate and Rockin' R Dairy goat cheese, lamb shwarma or homemade falafel with oven-roasted market vegetables, and Iranian pistachio cake......yummy!!

Today is also the 31st Annual Day of the Dead/Gede Celebration from 7:00pm to 10:00 pm at 3319 Rosalie Alley (Dirt Alley off of N. Rampart, Between Piety and Desire, in Bywater)  Please wear white with a purple headscarf or black and purple for Gede. Bring a dish for the people and an offering for the Dead or Gede.  Gede's tastes tend towards peppers, flatbreads, rum, cigars, goat stew, crosses, grave digger's tools, black cock feathers, skeletons, sunglasses with one lens, hot Creole foods, money, the colors black, mauve, and white. He is syncretized with St. Gerard.  Or you can bring something that your ancestors or loved  ones enjoyed in life.  RSVP or for more info: (504) 948-9961.

Today is Wine Walk Tuesdays this evening from 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm starting at the Ste Marie (930 Poydras) and ending at Bouche...with many stops in between. 411-365 Creative is proud to introduce one of NOLA's premiere weekly events. The first series of events will begin at Ste. Marie and end at Bouche NOLA, stopping at destinations on the way. The Wine Walk Passport will allow you to sample unique wines and small bites, while paying homage to existing establishments in the CBD area as well as experience new, up-and-comers, along the way. The Trinity Artist Series continues tonight at Trinity Episcopal Church (1329 Jackson Ave.) with "Organ & Labyrinth" with Albinas Prizgintas on the 5000 pipe Trinity tracker organ. The program includes some of the greatest music ever written ranging from Classical Baroque to vintage rock and popular tunes. The concert is from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm and it's FREE!

Good Music Tonight!

It's gonna be a beautiful evening to hang out at the The Columns (3811 St. Charles Ave.)...Have a cocktail and listen to the amazing guitar playing of John Rankin along with Todd Duke at 8:30 pm...this is going to be a good one!

There's some fun on Frenchmen tonight over at d.b.a. (618 Frenchmen) with the Treme Brass Band at 9:00 pm - there's a $5 cover, but this show is definitely worth the dinero!

Right down the street the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) has a triple header with no cover - Brett Richardson at 4:00 pm, Smokin' Time Jazz Club at 6:00 pm and top off the evening with Meschiya Lake & The Little Big Horns at 10:00 pm!

End your night over at the Maple Leaf Bar on Oak Street...with  the REBIRTH Brass Band they come on around 10:30ish - there's a cover, but you'll be glad you paid and stayed up late!!
