A Thursday with Art, Music & Concerts in the Park!

Good Morning Everybody - it looks like Autumn might just be here, so get out there and celebrate!

Thursday Events

Don't miss out on the weekly wine tasting at Cork and Bottle (3700 Orleans ) about 5:00 pm in Mid-City and today's tasting features Cline and Blackstone wines in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These super cool peeps are donating a portion of EVERY bottle sold worldwide to help in the fight against breast cancer. You can also stop at Clever (right next door) for their "tasting special" - $1 off your first cocktail after attending the free wine tasting and hang out and watch the Tigers kick some Mississippi butt! And be sure to stop by the Crescent City Farmer's Market and patronize local Louisiana vendors with fresh veggies, seafood and more!

Celebrate Jerry Moran's Photo Installation tonight at the Whiskey Blue (333 Poydras) from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.  Legendary New Orleans Musicians are coming together to celebrate Jerry's new photo exhibit. Known for capturing the musicians New Orleans is famous for, Jerry Moran and friends celebrate his iconic images against the backdrop of Whiskey Blue. A percentage of the art and bar sales will go to the New Orleans Musician's Clinic too!

Need a little more art, culture and music? You gotta go to the show at the Ogden Southern Museum of Art (925 Camp St.) - better known as Ogden after Hours.  The concert starts up at 6:00 pm with Lynn Drury. Lynn’s compositions are as rich and full of visual imagery as life itself. Often autobiographical, each song is carefully crafted around its initial inspiration, ranging from love and loss to beauty and butterflies. Her sound combines the twang and grit of her native Mississippi and the funky grooves of her adopted home of New Orleans.

Go hang out at City Park this evening for The Thursdays at Twilight Garden Concert Series with Clarinetist Tom Sancton and the New Orleans All Stars!  The gates open up at 5:00 pm and the performance starts at 6:00 pm in the City Park Botanical Garden Pavilion of the Two Sisters...There is an admission charge, but hey, it's helping the Park out..so....it's a good thing...$8 for adults and $3 for children.

Tonight is the next big installment of Live at Lafreniere Park (3000 Downs Blvd.) at 6:00 pm with Amanda Shaw. They'll have frosty beverages and delicious food. Look for the huge stage on the island, and the best part? . . .Admission is FREE!!! Kids and pets are welcome too!
