Hump Day w/Harvest the Music, Beer Tappin', Fashion and More!

Happy Wednesday Everybody!!


A free concert series benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans & Acadiana....Every WEDNESDAY, September 14-November 2 from 5:00 pm to  7:30 pm at LAFAYETTE SQUARE!!

In addition to a free, weekly concert, concert-goers will enjoy food and drinks for purchase (no outside food or drinks, please) from local favorites including: Martin Wine Cellar, Squeal, Ye Olde Kettle Cooker, Miss Linda's Soul Food Catering, Lil Dizzy's Café, Lucy's Retired Surfer's Bar & Restaurant, Crepes a la Cart, Oceana and Second Harvest Food Bank Community Kitchen. An artists' village will feature artwork and crafts from regional artists and designers, all available for purchase.

Join Gordon Biersch (200 Poydras) this evening for the tapping of their latest seasonal beer, Festbier!  The GB beer maids will be serving up their new brew and will provide complimentary appetizers from the new seasonal menu.  If the beer maids and free snacks aren't enough to keep you entertained, there will also be plenty of games and raffles (with prizes!!!) to participate in!  And as a special bonus to the loyal customers, all Passport and Stein Club members will receive one complimentary beer. Head on over to Lakeview for the Harrison Avenue Marketplace presented by Beacon of Hope tonight from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm in the parking lot of Lakeview Grocery at 801 Harrison Avenue.  You'll enjoy music by Eudora Evans and Deep Soul  and with Fall right around the corner, get a jump start on your holiday shopping and support the featured local artists who can help you find that perfect something. There will be 75 arts, crafts and food vendors on hand.  First Baptist New Orleans church will be there with great activities for the little ones. You can enjoy the famous char-grilled oysters from Drago's or fish tacos from the familiar Woody's Tacos. Keep it cool with NOLA Snow Snowballs or a cold refreshing libation from the Beacon Beverage booth serving an array of thirst quenchers including margaritas.  It's going to a fun evening!

After all that great music you might be craving a fancy dinner!  No problem cause the Louisiana Restaurant Association Greater New Orleans Chapter is hosting We Live to Eat: Louisiana Seafood Restaurant Week, celebrating the art and appreciation of dining in New Orleans. During the week of September 12-18, 2011, more than thirty local restaurants will offer two-course lunches for $20 and three-course dinners for $35. It's a chance to enjoy exceptional dining and satisfy your palate the way only New Orleans cooking can... at a great value.
