A Thursday with Art, Music, Eating and Dancing!

Good Morning Everybody,

Here's some Thursday fun stuff!!

Thursday Events

Don't miss out on the weekly wine tasting at Cork and Bottle (3700 Orleans ) about 5:00 pm in Mid-City and the tasting is free with some great choices to taste and purchase!  And be sure to stop by the Crescent City Farmer's Market and patronize local Louisiana vendors with fresh veggies, seafood and more!

Looking to get your art on this evening...well we have just the thing for you!!  It's  "Bottles and Brushes" at the Degas House (2306 Esplanade)!   Beginning at 6:30 PM, this one of a kind event provides artists and non-artists the opportunity to come and be inspired where Degas lived.  They’ll supply the paints, aprons, and brushes and  even one COMPLIMENTARY adult beverage.  All you need to bring is a little creativity and a positive attitude.  Come a little early and enjoy the social hour at 5:30 pm....Cost is $40 and for more info and reservations call (504) 821-5009 or email: info@degashouse.com.

Need a little more art, culture and music? You gotta go to the show at the Ogden Southern Museum of Art (925 Camp St.) - better known as Ogden after Hours.  The concert starts up at 6:00 pm with Ven Pa’ Ca a flamenco music and dance ensemble that is the result of the collaboration between artists John Lawrence (guitarist/musical director), Leticia Jimenez (dancer/percussionist), Rob Wagner (saxophonist) and David Sobel (percussionist). Ven Pa’ Ca has developed a unique voice that blends New Orleans’ rich musical customs with traditional Flamenco- don't miss it!!

Go hang out at City Park this evening for The Thursdays at Twilight Garden Concert Series with Solid Harmony!  The gates open up at 5:00 pm and the performance starts at 6:00 pm in the City Park Botanical Garden Pavilion of the Two Sisters...There is an admission charge, but hey, it's helping the Park out..so....it's a good thing...$8 for adults and $3 for children.
