Seth grew up in rural North Carolina surrounded by a musical, artistic family which has lent itself to Seth’s natural ability to entertain audiences with his music and the ease with which he performs. - don't miss it!!
Go hang out at City Park this evening for The Thursdays at Twilight Garden Concert Series with the always entertaining Phil Melancon! The gates open up at 5:00 pm and the performance starts at 6:00 pm in the City Park Botanical Garden Pavilion of the Two Sisters...There is an admission charge, but hey, it's helping the Park out..so....it's a good thing...$8 for adults and $3 for children.

Need a little more art, culture and music? You gotta go to the show at the Ogden Southern Museum of Art (925 Camp St.) - better known as Ogden after Hours. The concert starts up at 6:00 pm with Camile Baudoin (The Radiators) on guitars along with David Doucet (Beausoleil) on guitars and ukulele, and Harry Hardin (Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes) on violin. They play what we call Living Room Music, the songs Camile sang and played with his family when he was growing up, along with some originals and instrumentals - don't miss it!!
Go hang out at City Park this evening for The Thursdays at Twilight Garden Concert Series with John Autin! The gates open up at 5:00 pm and the performance starts at 6:00 pm in the City Park Botanical Garden Pavilion of the Two Sisters...There is an admission charge, but hey, it's helping the Park out..so....it's a good thing...$8 for adults and $3 for children.

Looking to get your art on this evening...well we have just the thing for you!! It's "Bottles and Brushes" at the Degas House (2306 Esplanade)! Beginning at 6:30 PM, this one of a kind event provides artists and non-artists the opportunity to come and be inspired where Degas lived. They’ll supply the paints, aprons, and brushes and even one COMPLIMENTARY adult beverage. All you need to bring is a little creativity and a positive attitude. Come a little early and enjoy the social hour at 5:30 pm....Cost is $40 and for more info and reservations call (504) 821-5009 or email: info@degashouse.com.

Ven Pa’ Ca has developed a unique voice that blends New Orleans’ rich musical customs with traditional Flamenco- don't miss it!!

Satchmo Celebratin' Tomorrow!!
Friday! Friday! Friday! - It's the Satchmo Club Strut on Frenchmen Street!!
In true Satchmo style, there’ll be some Struttin' on historic Frenchmen Street tomorrow night from 6:00 pm to 2 am. The jazzy club crawl offers the perfect chance to experience the sights and sounds of New Orleans’ unique music scene in a progressive jazz concert that spans 17 locations along Frenchmen Street!
Throughout the evening, music aficionados will be treated to jazz performances by Centurion Lionel Ferbos and a variety of stellar musicians, including Chris Thomas King, Don Vappie, the Soul Rebels, Shamarr Allen, Ellis Marsalis, Charmaine Neville, Wess “Warmdaddy” Anderson, Glen David Andrews, the Free Agents Brass Band, Tom McDermott, Fredy Omar, Jason Marsalis, and others, including the “Satchmo of Japan”, Yoshio Toyama.
Plus, New Orleans’ own Allen Toussaint & Jazzivity, Davell Crawford, Donald Harrison Jr. and the Treme Brass Band will be featured on the Red Stripe Stage in Jane Alley, a new outdoor venue at 619 Frenchmen.
Strutters will dance, drink and dine the night away while supporting the New Orleans Jazz Celebration, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting and perpetuating jazz to audiences of all ages. Venues include Maison, Snug Harbor, Blue Nile, Three Muses, d.b.a., Vaso, Checkpoint Charlie’s and Bicycle Michael’s, to name a few. There will also be featured signings of jazz-themed books by John Swenson, Tom Jacobsen and Ricky Riccardi at Faubourg Arts and Books, and a display of children’s art from Benjamin Franklin, Edward Hynes Charter School, McDonogh # 42 Elementary School and McDonogh 35 High School, depicting individual interpretations of the contest theme, “What a Wonderful World”.

Throughout the evening, music aficionados will be treated to jazz performances by Centurion Lionel Ferbos and a variety of stellar musicians, including Chris Thomas King, Don Vappie, the Soul Rebels, Shamarr Allen, Ellis Marsalis, Charmaine Neville, Wess “Warmdaddy” Anderson, Glen David Andrews, the Free Agents Brass Band, Tom McDermott, Fredy Omar, Jason Marsalis, and others, including the “Satchmo of Japan”, Yoshio Toyama.
Plus, New Orleans’ own Allen Toussaint & Jazzivity, Davell Crawford, Donald Harrison Jr. and the Treme Brass Band will be featured on the Red Stripe Stage in Jane Alley, a new outdoor venue at 619 Frenchmen.
Strutters will dance, drink and dine the night away while supporting the New Orleans Jazz Celebration, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting and perpetuating jazz to audiences of all ages. Venues include Maison, Snug Harbor, Blue Nile, Three Muses, d.b.a., Vaso, Checkpoint Charlie’s and Bicycle Michael’s, to name a few. There will also be featured signings of jazz-themed books by John Swenson, Tom Jacobsen and Ricky Riccardi at Faubourg Arts and Books, and a display of children’s art from Benjamin Franklin, Edward Hynes Charter School, McDonogh # 42 Elementary School and McDonogh 35 High School, depicting individual interpretations of the contest theme, “What a Wonderful World”.

The concert starts up at 6:00 pm. with Creede Williams...Raised on Ray Charles and Van Morrison by gospel singers, the musical gumbo of Creede Williams’ childhood make his two albums a feast for the ears. A child of Southeastern Oklahoma, the talented lyricist sings an emotionally charged, but honest story. Williams’ soulful vocals and catchy pop/country guitar move his audience to a foot-tapping and hand-clapping dance...so come on down for some music, culture and fun - don't miss it!!
Go hang out at City Park this evening for The Thursdays at Twilight Garden Concert Series with The Gay Men's Chorus! The gates open up at 5:00 pm and the performance starts at 6:00 pm in the City Park Botanical Garden Pavilion of the Two Sisters...There is an admission charge, but hey, it's helping the Park out..so....it's a good thing...$8 for adults and $3 for children.
There's some good music happenin' over on St. Claude tonight - so check it out! The Hi-Ho Lounge (2239 St. Claude) has the Stooges Brass Band at 10:00 pm....and the Saturn Bar (3067 St. Clauce) has the Parishioners at 10:00 pm....hit one show early and one show late and make both!

Dehlia is known for her bittersweet vocal harmonies and spirited picking, she promises to bring the sounds and soul of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Ogden.......so come on down for some music, culture and fun and the amazing Bill deTurk (my hubby) will be doing the in depth interview this evening..don't miss it!!

I'm sure you're going to be hungry after the wine tasting and music - so go out to eat tonight for a great cause by participating in Dining Out for Life and you'll support the No Aids Task Force just by eating!! 25% of your dining bill will help out the Task Force, and if you choose to donate a little extra - you and your waiter will be entered into a drawing for a great prize.
