Cupcakes, Wine, Cooking, Art & Music!!

Good Morning Everybody,

Here's some Thursday fun stuff!!

Thursday Events

Need a free cupcake? (is that a rhetorical question?) It's Cupcakes & Co.'s (1907 Poydras) Storefront Grand Opening with FREE Cupcakes starting at 10:30 am!  Go get yourself a free cupcake and buy a couple for your friends too!

Don't miss out on the weekly wine tasting at Cork and Bottle (3700 Orlenas ) about 5:00 pm in Mid-City and the tasting is free with some great choices to taste and purchase!  And be sure to stop by the Crescent City Farmer's Market and patronize local Louisiana vendors with fresh veggies, seafood and more!

Cooking class anyone?  FREE COOKING CLASS with Jodi Brown (the Ultimate Kitchen Commando), Mike Couste and An Howard at the NEW restaurant INSIDE of the Rouse's Supermarket at Napoleon and Tchoup.  Come see what everyone is talking about.  You MUST reserve a spot on the list as seating is limited. Call the store at 504-896-7910 and reserve your seat NOW!

Need some Art?  Then head down to The White Camellia (3937 Magazine St.) tonight from 5:00 to 8:00 pm....They're showcasing Pam Kelly Sills and Muffin Sills Bernstein, Mother & daughter, their work could not be more different, but each artist paints, photographs, and sculpts a lush landscape of dense enticing colors and textures. Come see their latest creations!

Need a little art, culture and music? You gotta go to the show at the Ogden Southern Museum of Art (925 Camp St.) - better known as Ogden after Hours.  The concert starts up at 6:00 pm. with Creede Williams...Raised on Ray Charles and Van Morrison by gospel singers, the musical gumbo of Creede Williams’ childhood make his two albums a feast for the ears.  A child of Southeastern Oklahoma, the talented lyricist sings an emotionally charged, but honest story.  Williams’ soulful vocals and catchy pop/country guitar move his audience to a foot-tapping and hand-clapping dance...so come on down for some music, culture and fun - don't miss it!!

Go hang out at City Park this evening for The Thursdays at Twilight Garden Concert Series with The Gay Men's Chorus!  The gates open up at 5:00 pm and the performance starts at 6:00 pm in the City Park Botanical Garden Pavilion of the Two Sisters...There is an admission charge, but hey, it's helping the Park out..so....it's a good thing...$8 for adults and $3 for children.

There's some good music happenin' over on St. Claude tonight - so check it out!  The Hi-Ho Lounge (2239 St. Claude) has the Stooges Brass Band at 10:00 pm....and the Saturn Bar (3067 St. Clauce) has the Parishioners at 10:00 pm....hit one show early and one show late and make both!

If you're looking for more fun stuff to do...check out the WWOZ Livewire!
