A Toast to Tales!!

Good Morning Everybody!  Lots of good things going on today!

Today is the official first day of Tales of the Cocktail....Although, you need tickets for most of the events.  There are some great deals for you folks on a budget.  First, you can attend all the Tasting Rooms from today through Sunday for the low low price $45.00.  That's four days of cocktail fun!!  For more info click on link.

And there's another fun Tales event today - and everyone is welcome!!  Toast to Tales of the Cocktail 2011 today from 2:00 to 3:00 pm on the 300 Block of Royal Street - Tales of the Cocktail has returned and they're ready to get things off to a sipping start. They're shaking up the traditional press conference with drinks and music as we celebrate the start of the 9th Annual Tales of the Cocktail. Come meet the stars of the week’s festivities including 2011 Co-Ambassadors, Dickie Brennan & Steve Pettus, as they preview events and announce the latest New Orleans establishments to earn the Sazerac Seal of Approval. After the toast is over, stick around to witness history as Bols Genever has orchestrated a bid to set a world record for the biggest slurp and you can participate!!

If you're looking for some free music head on down to the Wednesdays on the Point concert series continues this afternoon in Algiers and runs through August 10th  from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and of course, admission is FREE Tonight head to the Algiers Ferry Dock (200Morgan St.) for the Flow Tribe plus the Higher Heights - Reggae Band- and today the SPCA will be there with lots of furry friends who are looking for their forever home!!

Take in the hottest styles at Fashion with a Twist tonight at Mike's on the Avenue (628 St. Charles Ave.) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. - Enjoy cocktail specials and gourmet appetizers while viewing the hottest looks from So Chic Boutique!  This fun evening is brought to you by Glam Squad Stardust Salon, Hair Loft, Salon Diversion and Aristocrat Salon...Be sure to stay on for live music after the show with Robin Barnes!

Experience an evening of cultural indulgences at the JW Marriott Lobby Lounge (614 Canal St.) t from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with art, a spirit tasting and complimentary hors d'oeuvres!  The event will feature Lorenzo Bergen known for his acrylic paintings, including abstracts and florals, and Gypsy Jazz music with Raphael Bas & Pierre Pichon. Parking is available at a special event rate of $5 on Common Street.

Looking for some dinner and then some music for dessert?  Rock 'N Bowl (3016 S.
