Cocktails for a Cause and Music!

Happy Tuesday Everybody,

Looking for some fun things to do today???

You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market!!!  Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) and pick up some fresh seafood, veggies and you can even get some lunch!  Emeril's restaurants' month-long farm to fork celebration continues this Tuesday with yummy food from Emeril's under the GPS tent. Come by for Emeril’s local mushroom and goat cheese pizzetti, pork pot pies with local pork and vegetables, Louisiana rice pudding, local fruit chutney ...that sounds delicious!

This afternoon and evening there's lot of fun stuff going on....

Well if you're in need of Cocktails & Closet Therapy, and who isn't....you need to stop by the Occasional Wife (4306 Magazine St.) between 5:30 and 8:00 pm.  Dress for Success New Orleans & The Occasional Wife invite you to celebrate their new partnership.  The Occasional Wife is now the Official Uptown Drop-off spot for donations to Dress for Success New Orleans.  During the event, 10% of sales will benefit Dress for Success New Orleans.  Cocktails by Szambelan Vodka, Cupcakes by BeeSweet Cupcakes, Furniture by Design Within Reach, food, music, swag bags and much more!!

After cocktails....come on down to Chickie Wah Wah on Canal Street to enjoy the fantastic trio of talented songwriters, Anders Osborne, John Fohl and Johnny Sansone.  Music starts about 8:00 pm, but come early to get a good seat.  John Fohl tours with Dr. John, Anders has a new CD/project touring and Johnny also tours during the summer, so from time to time one of the guys is out - BUT they've have had some amazing subs like John Mooney, Jon Cleary, Bob Andrews, Walter Wolfman, Rod Hodges, George Porter Jr. - to name a few.  So don't be shy if you came to see somebody in particular and he isn't there - you won't be disappointed.....and you don't want to miss out on something one of a kind and special!

You can also head on over to Bullet's Sports Bar (2441 AP Tureaud) at about 8:30ish and get down to the sounds of Kermit Ruffins and the BBQ Swingers...there's really no better place to spend your Tuesday night and have a few drinks to celebrate!

For your early and late night evening pleasure you need to go by the Maple Leaf Bar tonight on Oak Street...There's an early show for Shuck Nite featuring 3 Piece Spicy at 7:00 pm...and stay on through for the REBIRTH!!  You'll be glad you stayed up late for this show!

Have a wonderful Tuesday and for more fun shows and events going on click on the WWOZ Livewire link!
