Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm for the freshest veggies, fruits and seafood. This month the Market welcomes Taceaux Loceaux to the Green Plate Special tent for May! We love the tasty tacos and side items they serve from the side of their colorful food truck. This Tuesday choose from their Messin' with Texas brisket taco, Delta Prawn shrimp taco, Jane Deaux greens taco, or a delicious Sopa de Fresa Colombian strawberry soup. TONIGHT!!! THE FIRST BI-ANNUAL ROLLING THROUGH: A MOBILE SERIES BY “MY HOUSE” - Tuesday Evenings in May & June
The series will highlight four unique New Orleans neighborhoods and nonprofit partners – Bayou-Treme (The Bayou Treme Center), Central City (Good Work Network), Broadmoor (Broadmoor Improvement Association), and Bywater (The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts Institute).
“The series is unlike any other event in New Orleans,” says event organizer Barrie Schwartz “Our mission is to draw attention to New Orleans neighborhoods, support our nonprofit partners, spotlight the mobile food truck movement, and support our local small business owners.” Schwartz added that a portion of the proceeds will be given to the nonprofit partners.
**The first event is tonight from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., at The Bayou Treme Center (2541 Bayou Road). In addition to the food trucks, NOLA Drive-in will show “Singing In the Rain” inside the center, starting at 8 p.m.
Good Music Tonight!
There's a great musical evening on the Avenue at the The Columns (3811 St. Charles Ave.) at 8:00 p.m. tonight! Have a fancy cocktail and listen to guitar playing man, John Rankin!
Head on over to Mid-City and to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for some Johnny Sansone and John Fohl at 8:00 pm - you don't miss out - and come hungry for a Sammich!
Have some fun at the Allways Lounge (2240 St. Claude) with the All-Star Covered-Dish Country Jamboree starting at 9:00 pm with Zach Bryson + Gregory Good + The Swamp Lilies. It's $5 at the door or $3 if you bring a covered dish - see you there!
There's some fun on Frenchmen tonight too over at d.b.a. (618 Frenchmen) with the The Treme Brass Band at 10:00 pm - there's a $5 cover for the show - but you know you don't want to miss it!

Okay it's the last day at the Louisiana Music Factory (201 Decatur) for their annual in-store Jazz Fest concerts...here's the line-up for today!! This is truly the best way to cap off your Jazz Fest Weekend!

Bill's Jazz Fest Picks - Day VII
BILL’S JAZZ FEST PICKS – DAY VII
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No Andy Williams, not Christmas, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, the unchallenged greatest music and culture event on the planet. People say it is the coolest sloppiest Fest on record… maybe, but the music and the spirit of the guests are warm and welcoming as always.
My hot picks, dedicated to Callie –
Kick off the day with the guys from the Creole String Beans; as a matter of fact, you could spend the entire day right there at Gentilly (following CSB, N. O. Classic R&B Review, Irma “The Soul Queen of N. O.” Thomas, and Hall & Oates – if you are not tired of 70s & 80s Pop from yesterday). Aaron Neville closes the stage if it just is not Jazz Fest for you unless you finish by hearing his unique and beautiful voice. The first big wave goes from 1:30 to 2:45ish: James Andrews, the N. O. Nightcrawlers, Doreen’s Jazz N. O., Feufollet, and the Meter Men. John Boutte’ kicks off the next wave followed by “Wolfman” Washington, the TBC Brass Band, the irrepressible Bobby Lounge, Nathan & the Zydeco Cha Chas, and Pete Fountain. Wrap it up with the Del McCoury and Preservation Hall Jazz Bands, the N. O. Klezmer All-Stars, the debut Acura closeout of Trombone Shorty. Today’s “Who dat?” pick is Brushy One-String of Jamaica.
Remember to practice the “Walk By”, stroll by the many different stages to see bands that you have never heard of for a song or two. I promise that you will discover something fabulous you never even know existed.

If you are planting yourself in 1 spot, make it Fais Do-Do (Goldman Thibodeaux, Red Stick Ramblers, Yvette Landry, Chubby “There Ain’t No Party Like a Chubby Party” Carrier, Little Willies, and Sunpie). A unique way to get things going is with the N. O. Bingo Show. I love me some Roddie Romero and how about the superband Fleur Debris. Busy time around 3 with Sharde Thomas Fife & Drum, Boutte’ Family Gospel, and Eric Lindell. By now you better be awake for the next wave – Galactic, Davell Crawford, and the Joe Krown Trio. Wrap it up with Los Lobos, and there are rumors that most of the popularly known Fleetwod Mac will be closing out Acura. On that note, beware there have been some minor changes to the schedule on that stage today. Today’s “Who dat?” pick is Male Debale of Bahia-Brazil.

Tonight is WWOZ's Piano Night - The flagship benefit event for WWOZ 90.7FM and a tradition among New Orleans music lovers and loyal fans all over the world! This one-of-a-kind benefit concert for WWOZ is held each year on the Monday night between the two New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival weekends.
On this very special night WWOZ takes over the House of Blues in the French Quarter, with performances going on throughout the evening in all 3 of House of Blues' venues:
HOB Main Stage: Doors @ 7 ($42)
Feel the energy as piano legends from New Orleans and around the country take to the stage in support of WWOZ!
Patron Party in The Parish: Doors @ 5 ($152)

Join Tipitina's (501 Napoleon) tonight at 6:00pm for the Instruments A Comin' (IAC) benefit concert and silent auction, featuring the best music, food and art that New Orleans has to offer. The outside entertainment, beginning at 6:00 pm, is open to the public and includes the Battle of the Bands with New Orleans' amazing high school marching bands, Martin Behrman Marching Band, Eleanor McMain Marching Band, McDonogh 35 Marching Band and St. Augustine "Marching 100". The music will take over the streets! If you are in town for Jazz Fest, you must come by Tchoupitoulas and Napoleon Avenue! After the Wall and Walk of Fame inductions the music begins inside the club with Galactic, Anders Osborne, New Orleans Suspects, Big Sam's Funky Nation, Walter Wolfman Washington & The Roadmasters, Bonerama, Flowtribe, Honey Island Swamp Band, Dumpstaphunk, Johnny Sketch & The Dirty Notes, John Gros (Papa Grows Funk) and many more will perform, and there will be an auction during the performances. Tickets range from $40 to $200.

Head on down to Mid-City and to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for 3 shows! Starting up at 4 Dayna Kurtz is curating a series of Songwriter Circles with some of the best songwriters around. tonight she'll be joined by C. C. Adcock (Lil' Band o' Gold) and Spencer Bohren, then 8 with the one and only piano man Jon Cleary, and then top it off at 10:30 - Mike Zito's Royal Blues Jam! Don't forget to come hungry for a sammich and other good stuff from the kitchen!!
