Piano Night!!

Tonight is WWOZ's Piano Night - The flagship benefit event for WWOZ 90.7FM and a tradition among New Orleans music lovers and loyal fans all over the world! This one-of-a-kind benefit concert for WWOZ is held each year on the Monday night between the two New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival weekends.
On this very special night WWOZ takes over the House of Blues in the French Quarter, with performances going on throughout the evening in all 3 of House of Blues' venues:

HOB Main Stage: Doors @ 7 ($42)
Feel the energy as piano legends from New Orleans and around the country take to the stage in support of WWOZ!

Patron Party in The Parish: Doors @ 5 ($152)
Before the music starts in this more intimate setting, indulge in a catered meal of some of NoLa's finest fare!

Instruments a Comin'!

Join Tipitina's (501 Napoleon) tonight at 6:00pm for the Instruments A Comin' (IAC) benefit concert and silent auction, featuring the best music, food and art that New Orleans has to offer. The outside entertainment, beginning at 6:00 pm, is open to the public and includes the Battle of the Bands with New Orleans' amazing high school marching bands, Martin Behrman Marching Band, Eleanor McMain Marching Band, McDonogh 35 Marching Band and St. Augustine "Marching 100". The music will take over the streets! If you are in town for Jazz Fest, you must come by Tchoupitoulas and Napoleon Avenue! After the Wall and Walk of Fame inductions the music begins inside the club with Galactic, Anders Osborne, New Orleans Suspects, Big Sam's Funky Nation, Walter Wolfman Washington & The Roadmasters, Bonerama, Flowtribe, Honey Island Swamp Band, Dumpstaphunk, Johnny Sketch & The Dirty Notes, John Gros (Papa Grows Funk) and many more will perform, and there will be an auction during the performances. Tickets range from $40 to $200.

More Monday Night Music

Head on down to Mid-City and to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for 3 shows! Starting up at 4  Dayna Kurtz is curating a series of Songwriter Circles with some of the best songwriters around. tonight she'll be joined by C. C. Adcock (Lil' Band o' Gold) and Spencer Bohren, then 8 with the one and only piano man Jon Cleary, and then top it off at 10:30 - Mike Zito's Royal Blues Jam! Don't forget to come hungry for a sammich and other good stuff from the kitchen!!
