Farmer's Market!
You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market! Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm for the freshest veggies, fruits and seafood. This month the Market welcomes Taceaux Loceaux to the Green Plate Special tent for May! We love the tasty tacos and side items they serve from the side of their colorful food truck. This Tuesday choose from their Messin' with Texas brisket taco, Delta Prawn shrimp taco, Jane Deaux greens taco, or a delicious Sopa de Fresa Colombian strawberry soup. With choices like that, lunch at the market is a no-brainer!

Food Trucks and a Movie!
TONIGHT!!! THE FIRST BI-ANNUAL ROLLING THROUGH: A MOBILE SERIES BY “MY HOUSE” - Tuesday Evenings in May & June
The series will highlight four unique New Orleans neighborhoods and nonprofit partners – Bayou-Treme (The Bayou Treme Center), Central City (Good Work Network), Broadmoor (Broadmoor Improvement Association), and Bywater (The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts Institute).
“The series is unlike any other event in New Orleans,” says event organizer Barrie Schwartz “Our mission is to draw attention to New Orleans neighborhoods, support our nonprofit partners, spotlight the mobile food truck movement, and support our local small business owners.” Schwartz added that a portion of the proceeds will be given to the nonprofit partners.
**The first event is tonight from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., at The Bayou Treme Center (2541 Bayou Road). In addition to the food trucks, NOLA Drive-in will show “Singing In the Rain” inside the center, starting at 8 p.m.
Good Music Tonight!
There's a great musical evening on the Avenue at the The Columns (3811 St. Charles Ave.) at 8:00 p.m. tonight! Have a fancy cocktail and listen to guitar playing man, John Rankin!
Head on over to Mid-City and to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for some Johnny Sansone and John Fohl at 8:00 pm - you don't miss out - and come hungry for a Sammich!
Have some fun at the Allways Lounge (2240 St. Claude) with the All-Star Covered-Dish Country Jamboree starting at 9:00 pm with Zach Bryson + Gregory Good + The Swamp Lilies. It's $5 at the door or $3 if you bring a covered dish - see you there!
There's some fun on Frenchmen tonight too over at d.b.a. (618 Frenchmen) with the The Treme Brass Band at 10:00 pm - there's a $5 cover for the show - but you know you don't want to miss it!
Right down the street the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) has a triple header with no cover - Andy Forest at 4:00 pm, Meschiya Lake & The Little Big Horns at 6:00 pm, and top off the evening with the Smokin' Time Jazz Club at 10:00 pm!
It's a fun night over at the Maple Leaf Bar on Oak Street...with the REBIRTH Brass Band - they come on around 10:30ish - there's a cover, but you'll be glad you paid and stayed up late!!

Weekend Fun - Food Trucks, Stompers, B-day Fun, Kermit, Blues, Po-Boys and Paradin'!
It's going to be one beautiful weekend! What's going on 'round town?
Friday fun!
The Broad Street Food Truck Festival & NOLA Drive-in (300 N. Broad) will be on the roof of the old Schwegmann building tonight!! That's right, Food Trucks (10!) and a Drive-in movie in one event! Broad Community Connections will be hosting the Broad Street Food Truck Festival and NOLA Drive-in as a part of its larger mission of promoting economic and community development on Broad Street. There will be 10 food trucks present: Bentley's Meals on Wheels, Empanada Intifada, NOLA Girl Food Catering, Foodie Call, Frencheeze, Brigade Coffee, Slap Yo Mama, La Cocinita, Grilling Shilling, and Rue Chow. The movie showing will be Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. The movie will be showing from 8:30 - 10 pm.
Celebrate with the Stompers for the 610 Stompers Calendar Release Party tonight at Walk-On's Bistreaux and Bar (1009 Poydras) The theme of the clendar will be released, and there will be sigings, free beer, food and dancing to music by DJ Hammer on the 2nd floor. The fun starts up at 8:00 pm - '80's attire and mustaches are the preferred dress for the evening. Admission is $25 in advance and $30 at the door (includes a calendar). Come to Tipitina's (501 Napoleon) tonight and celebrate the 15th anniversary of Basin Street Records' first recording, The Barbecue Swingers Live. This was the first CD recorded by Kermit Ruffins for the New Orleans-based label and we're celebrating the only way we know how - by doing it all over again! The music starts at 10:00 pm with Ingrid Lucia and then Kermit hits the stage - Tickets are $15.

It's a day of fun at the 4th Annual Magazine Street Blues Fest. Free and Open to the public. Live music beginning at 11:30 with the Marc Stone Blues Band; followed by The Soul Rebels; The Wise Guys and closing out with Rockin Dopsie and the Zydeco Twisters. Surprise performances throughout the day. Fest also features food truck vendors and other New Orleans Restaurants; a Pay One Price Kids area; and artists selling one of a kind and unique hand made items. Christmas is right around the corner!! Fest opens at 11 am and closes at 7 pm. All proceeds to benefit COPS 2. Sponsors include Budweiser, Barefoot Wines, Old New Orleans Rum, Stoli Vodka, The Azby Fund, Touro Hospital, Les Bon Temps Rouler, Bourbon Heat and Signature Events. Looking for some music, food and fun? Then head on over to Broadmoor Fest!! Broadmoor will be holding its annual festival today from 11a.m. till 7 p.m. on Galvez Street, between Upperline Street and Napoleon Avenue. It’s a great day to celebrate with your neighbors and friends: eat some good food,listen and dance to live New Orleans music with Gal Holiday, Sunpie Barnes, Charmaine Neville and more, shop from the local vendors and let your kids play in the children’s section! It's gonna be a fun one!
There's some Halloween fun over at the French Market today with the Boo Carre' Halloween and Harvest Festival from 10 to 6:30 pm (and trick or treating for the kids at 4:00 pm!) There's gonna be music with Benny Grunch and the Bunch and Egg Yolk Jubilee, a petting zoo, pumpkin patches and a pumpkin procession at dark...Spooky!!!
