Wine, Beer and More Opera!!

Happy Thursday,

And another lovely day it is.....So, here's some fun stuff going on today!

Don't miss out on the weekly wine tasting at Cork and Bottle about 5:00 pm in Mid-City and tasting is free!!  And be sure to stop by the Crescent City Farmer's Market and patronize local Louisiana vendors with fresh veggies, seafood and more!  Stay on for Jumpin' Johnny Sansone for the 6:30 pm show!!

There's gonna be a yummy cask tasting at Chickie Wah Wah tonight from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  Check out the new Vanilla Turbodog...I think it's gonna be good one!!  There's also gonna be some great music for your drinking and listening pleasure.....Daemon Shea - of The Geraniums and Tribe Nunzio along with Craig Aspen from The Believers!!

It's another night of opera....so head head on down to The Ogden Southern Museum of Art concert today for Ogden after Hours.   Music starts up at 6:00 pm and the New Orleans Opera Association is thrilled to be a part and is presenting several members from the cast of "Porgy and Bess" singing highlights from and answering questions (from WWOZ dj Bill deTurk) about one of the most enduring American Operas...(and remember if you get down there early - go grab a cocktail at the Circle Bar on Lee's Circle...one of the best happy hours in town!)

You can also go hang out at City Park this evening for The Thursdays at Twilight Garden Concert Series with John Rankin! The gates open up at 5:00 pm and the performance starts at 6:00 pm in the City Park Botanical Garden Pavilion of the Two Sisters...There is an admission charge, but hey, it's helping the Park out..so....it's a good thing...$8 for adults and $3 for children.  (Click link above to confirm this event due to rain).

And for all your musical fun this evening be sure to click on the WWOZ Livewire!
