This is the time of year I wonder....why didn't I take off the whole week between Jazz Fest weekends? It seems like a pretty good idea right about now.
Here are just a portion of the things going on today...enjoy!!
I really believe the best way to start up your day is the Louisiana Music Factory...it's another day and another amazing in store concert line-up! 12:00 pm Lindsay Mendez, 1:00 pm Washboard Rodeo, 2:00 pm Bobby Rush, 3:00 pm Garage A Trois, 4:00 pm Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, 5:00 pm Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, 6:00 pm Zeke Fishhead and Jolly House, 7:00 pm Cyril Neville...wow!
Today (and Wednesday) is also the Between Daze Festival from Noon to 6pm at the Rusty Nail 1102 Constance to benefit the New Orleans Musicians Clinic and the Gulf Restoration Network. There's gonna be great food from Woody's Fish Tacos and pristine oysters, boiled crawfish by brett ryan boilmaster extraordinaire, plus jambalaya
and gumbo by Crescent Pie and Sausage Company. As far as drinks go there will be great beers from NOLA Brewery and special cocktails from Old New Orleans Rum and excellent music.....New Era Presents Jesse Hiatt + Cliff Hines Quintet + Jealous Monk + Roosevelt Collier + Eric McFadden Trio and admission is only $5!
It's another happy hour at Chickie Wah Wah on Canal with Stephanie Nilles at 5:30 pm...and the kitchen will be open! Then hang out for the Paul Cebar solo at 7:00 pm...and stick around for the fantastic trio of Anders Osborne, John Fohl and Johnny Sansone the guys start up at 8:00ish!
Alrighty...got to get back to reality for the moment. For even more music and fun be sure check out the listings on the WWOZ Livewire!
