A Saturday Outdoors!

This beautiful weather keeps on coming...so here are a few fun things you can do outdoors today to celebrate!

Be sure to check out the Old Algiers RiverFest this Saturday and Sunday.  Take the Algier's Ferry over and take a short walk to a good time!  Today's line up starts up at noon....

If you got a hankering for some music and some crawfish....Check out the Tulane Crawfest .  If you're a Tulane student or employee you get free crawfish..if not you can still go by and check out the great music!!  With JJ Grey & Mofro, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, the Radiators, Jon Cleary & the Absolute Monster Gentleman, Billy Iuso & the Restless Natives, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, the Revivalists, Riverleft, the 1608 and the New Grass Country Club.

If you're looking to head across the lake...or you're already there you should make plans to go to the Pontchartrain Vineyards' Jazz'n the Vines presenting Charmaine Neville 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm (Gates open at 5:30 pm)....Pontchartrain Vineyard, 81250 Old Military Rd. Bush LA.  Admission is $10.00 per person.  Be sure to brring flashlights and umbrellas! Your lawn chair, picnic dinner and thirst for our wine while listening to the outdoor concert.

Looking for music outdoors.......head on over to Gentilly's Pontchartrain Park for a FREE LPO concert tonight!  HBO "Treme" star, Wendell Pierce, joins the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in celebrating the first free outdoor concert in Pontchartrain Park.  The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra invites the community to bring their blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets and enjoy the glorious sounds of live music in the first free outdoor concert ever presented in New Orleans' Pontchartrain Park (Press Drive at Prentiss Avenue).  The concert begins at at 6 p.m. and will serenade listeners with a selection of well-known and well-loved works from George Gershwin's Girl Crazy Overture to the beloved America the Beautiful, introduced by Wendell Pierce and community leaders.

Be sure to go to Mid City tonight for a super fun show at Champions Sport Bar on 3900 Tulane Avenue....Lips & The Trips are putting on a fantabulous show at 9:00 pm....it's gonna be a good one!!
