Beautiful Sunday!

It's a beautiful pre Jazz Fest Sunday...What's going on this gorgeous day!!

SUNDAY EVENTS

It's the second half of Old Algiers Riverfest....take that Algier's Ferry over about noonish...and check out this line-up! 

12 noon   Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Ensemble
1 p.m.    Lionel Ferbos
2 p.m.    Leah Chase
3:15 p.m. Rebirth Brass Band
4:30 p.m. John Boutte
5:45 p.m. Dr. Michael White's Original Liberty Jazz Band

Next head on down to Laurence Square (corner of Magazine and Napoleon) for the Sixth Annual Celebracion Latina from Noon to 6:00 pm.  The Celebration is FREE and open to the public - there will be food, live music, and other entertainment all with a Latin flavor. Local Latin groups will be performing such as Ovi-G and the Froggies and Casa Samba.

Head a little further down Magazine towards the Irish Channel and check out the Half Moon (1125 St. Mary) grand opening of the patio.....They'll be FREE crawfish for all bar patrons!!

Hope you cleaned out your closets and attics so you can go right around the corner to The Friends of St. Alphonsus - Trash or Treasure Day! (2025 Constance St.)  APPRAISALS OF SILVER, JEWELRY, TABLEWARE, PRINTS, PAINTINGS & PHOTOGRAPHY from11:30 a. m. to 3:00 p. m. cost is $10 for the first item; and $5 for each additional item for a total of 4 inclusive. Admission is FREE.

Last, but not least here's one for the kiddies - it's FREE ADMISSION day at the Louisiana Children's Museum...thanks Target for the great fun free day for kids!!! 

Music Tonight

Be sure to head on down to dba on Frenchmen for Margie Perez's cd release party at 10:00 pm.  She's showcasing her newest release from Threadhead Records "Singing for My Supper". It's gonna be a great show!!
