Good Morning Ya'll,
Hope the CCC treated you right and you enjoyed a great run through our City...but what are you going to do for the rest of the day??
Looking for some fun shopping - check out Elysian Fleas on 527 Elyasian Fields (of course), just in time for Easter, from 11 to 5:00 pm today (and now weekly)!! Ms. Cree McCree will be there on Saturday with a delightful collection of Cree-ations Easter bonnets, fresh & flirty sundresses, cool summer shirts for guys and my famous Righteous Fur nutria-teeth jewelry. Donald will also be on hand with his Straight from the Hipster used books ("classic lit from the Greeks to the Beats"), along with Howlpop and lots of other cool vendors.
To celebrate the Grand Opening as a weekly market, Debauche is playing gypsy hooligan music, Old New Orleans Rum is raffling off rum, and there are Easter egg and afikomen hunts for kids, so it should be a lot of fun!!
Do the kiddies need some Easter Egg Fun....stoll them over to Palmer Park at 11:00 for the Mayor's Easter Egg Hunt...there should be loads of bunny fun out there!
After the hunt be sure to head on over to the Freret Street Market (at Freret and Napoleon) for all your Easter presents needs from Noon to 5:00 pm...They'll be music, 90 amazing vendors, and animal rescue groups will be there.....so you can bring home a forever friend this afternoon.
Prefer the wine to the egg hunt - not a problem....Run on over to Bacchanal Wine for Saturday's Free Wine Tasting: Meet The Grape, King Cab from 3:00pm - 6:00pm.
And if you're strolling the Quarter this afternoon, be sure to stop and hang out at the Louisiana Music Factory (possibly wearing one of Cree's amazing Easter bonnets!!) There will be live music shows this afternoon from Jonno & Bayou Deville @ 2pm Ted Hefko and The Thousandaires @ 3pm and Seva Venet @ 4pm - you can pick up some beer coupons at the store and stroll down the block for your favorite brew!! Be sure to snatch up some great music for your family and friend's Easter Basket!
Saturday Night Events
I know ya'll are not going to forget about Jammin' on Julia this evening (check out the link, or yesterday's post for more details)!! It's going to be a great event!!
And you definitley want to start your Easter Celebration a little early with Chris Owens tonight at 7:30 ....with a night-time cocktail party with complimentary wine, champagne, soft drinks and hors d' oeuvres at the Chris Owens Club, 500 Bourbon Street. Guests will have access to a private upstairs room and balcony that overlooks Bourbon Street. There's a show following, featuring Chris Owens; a one-woman dazzling, talking, singing, dancing, sparkling explosion of perpetual motion that sweeps the audience right into the tempo of the show!
Then Easter morning don't forget to make plans for the French Quarter Easter Parade with Ms. Owens as Grand Duchess. The parade gears up at 1:00 pm on Canal and Bourbon - it's always a great one and you may even catch some candy!!!!
As always check out the music listings at Offbeat for even more fun tonight!!
