A Wednesday with the Ladies, Kermit Ruffins, Opera and Music All 'Round Town!

Happy Hump Day Everybody - Celebrate America with some great music tonight!

Come join the Ladies for the 6th annual LadyFest New Orleans! They're kicking things off with an Art Show with music at the New Orleans Healing Center (2372 St. Claude) at 6pm. For artists listings and much more, check out www.ladyfestneworleans.org. We will have raffles, cool LadyFest schwag, our 2012 LadyFest Compilation CD and much more!

Get Fired up for Kingsley House (1600 Constance) tonight with Kermit Ruffins at 6:30 pm! This fun event will feature entertainment by Kermit Ruffins & the Barbecue Swingers, drinks and raffle prizes. VooDoo BBQ and Grill will spend time at Ruffin's famous BBQ grill cooking some tasty treats for guests. The event is free, but guests must bring a business card to enter and donations will be asked for at the door. You know you don't want to miss this fun evening!

Get yourself some culture with Opera on Tap at the Rusty Nail (1100 Constance St.). This is the last concert at the Rusty Nail for 2012 - so come hear all of your favorites and selections from their upcoming opera The Barber of Seville on November 16 & 18. It's free opera tonight from 7:00 to 8:30 pm!

Deanie’s Seafood (1713 Lake Ave.) in Bucktown introduces its inaugural open-air concert series, Deanie’s Bucktober Wednesdays at 7:30 pm. The event features live music, drink specials and, of course, great seafood by local favorite Deanie’s Seafood. A free family friendly event, tonight it's The Brass-A-Holics!

Experience an Evening of Cultural Indulgences at it's new location in the  Irvin Mayfield I Club at the JW Marriott (614 Canal Street) from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tonight's event features new works by local artist Lorenzo Bergen- plus the guitar stylings of Javier Gutierrez, a spirit tasting with complimentary hors d’oeuvres....Make a purchase of $1,000 or more by  Artist tonight and the JW Marriott will give you a 1 night complimentary stay in the Presidential Bi-Level Suite a $1,500 value!! Head on over to Frenchmen Street for a double header of music at d.b.a. (618 Frenchmen) - They've got an early show with the Washboard Chaz Blues Trio at 7:00 pm, and be sure to stay on for Walter "Wolfman" Washington at 10:00 pm - there's a $5 cover, but you know the Wolfman is worth it!

Have fun in Mid-City when you head on over to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for some happy hour drinks and stay on for  Meschiya Davis and Tom McDermott at 7:00 pm and stick around for Richard Julian at 9:30 - it's a great evening of music! Come hungry - the kitchen is kickin' with pizza and all kinds of yummy food!

And there's more fun in Mid-City over at the Banks Street Bar (4401 Banks)!  Tonight it's Wednesday night regular Major Bacon and as always they got some FREE BLTs - tonight at 10:00 pm...you can never get enough of the bacon and no cover!!

Looking for some dinner and then some music for dessert?  Rock 'N Bowl (3016 S. Carrollton) can help you out!  Get an entree' over at Ye Olde College Inn and then get a half price ticket to the show right next door at Rock N' Bowl....Tonight - it's the jamin' sounds of Clockwork Elvis at 8:30 pm!!
